BACKDROP STORY BEHIND THE CREATION OF THIS BOOK
Regardless of what life dictates, I was finally ready to make things happen for me. It was my turn to live life full and be the best of ME. If it meant dragging myself out of bed at 3 am in the morning, to my laptop where I tap on the keys, ensuring that my life-story was written the best possible way. Perhaps it meant me driving 200 miles to a speaking event, then turning right back, cruising down the highways to catch a red-eye flight to yet another engagement. While it may seem hectic to others, this was me, living my dream… the dream I had always wanted since I was a little girl born in the South Western Region of Africa; the dream many told me it would never happen for me as a African female writer, living in diaspora; the same dream people laughed at, stating I was way too old to achieve in America. Yes, it was the dream of becoming a World Re-knowned Global Vision Midwife™, one who helps Creative Visionaries like myself, fearlessly deliver their legacy.

If you truly desire a door to open, seek it out; if it doesn’t open, then create a door for yourself, and run through it like your life depended on it.

One event can change your life forever. I stand here for one main reason: I wanted to charter the waters many ahead of me were unable to. I desired to breakthrough the confinements of society and allow my divine purpose to speak out and speak loudly, bringing healing and recovery to those who may hear it. Though I had tried many times to speak up, but life trials and circumstances got in the way. Sometimes, it was my own self-talk which reminded me of my past failures: my failed marriage, my failed businesses, my homelessness, the guilt, shame, and self-loath I experienced in my most vulnerable moments.

THE 2 MINUTES IN HOLLYWOOD WHICH CHANGED MY LIFE 
This time was different…I was ready to leap into destiny. I had the exit strategy and the success blueprint to make the leap and so, I jumped out of mediocrity and into my destiny path. From writing and self-publishing 20 inspirational books, to becoming bestselling author 9 times in different categories, to being the first recipient of the prestigious Literary Arts Award presented by the 2nd largest film industry in the world, Nollywood Organization- NAFCA, African Oscar in Hollywood, California; to winning five Hollywood & International Films award, (Peoples’ Choice- Best Screenwriter) being named one of the 100 women across the globe making an impact in their community, by Lift-effects in UK; Literary Arts Award recipient, Global Women of Essence Awards, launching my own TV show on YouTube, my own dedicated podcast, to finally having my brand, The Princess of Suburbia® licensed to an international fashion designer, creating a fashion collection scheduled which debuted in London, UK on May 29th, 2016.

The room was filled with dignitaries from all over the world, in particular Africa, celebrities from Hollywood, California; including Lou Gousette, Jr., Blair Underwood, Tommy Tiny Lister, to name a few, anxiously waiting to hear if they had won a film award. My family and I sat down and listened as the two hosts introduced the next NAFCA African Oscar Award winner!

The cheering in the crowd melted beautifully with the orchestra behind the curtains. This was the moment I had prayed for; a moment in time I had almost given up on; a moment when my efforts were recognized; it was a moment when my dream of standing in Hollywood to receive an award had finally happened. It was a dream moment, as I was thankful that I did not succeed in taking my own life, in my moment of despair.

As I was helped onto the stage to receive the very first prestigious Literary Arts Award, I looked through the crowd and found my family, kids, nieces, in-laws, and my love, Dr. David Hancock. It was a moment I wish I could capture in a bottle and hold on to forever. However, this impromptu video by my son, Demola, would suffice.

LIFE LESSONS WHICH IGNITED THE BOOK INTO EXISTENCE 
If there were lessons I learned that day, they were that our valley experiences are not meant to kill us, but they are meant to “grow us” and provide viable tools for when we get to the mountaintop. I also learned that we must never wait for others to open the door, if they are resistant; push through the noises, focus to discover or rediscover, learn to ignite, launch, live, and sustain ones’ passion relentlessly. I learned that at the right season, those who are called to ones life would suddenly show up to join in and take you to your next level. These are some of the “precious & wise jewels” that have helped me in life, home, and business. The most invaluable lesson I learned as I watched the room in standing ovation was this:

"You did not find your calling; your calling finds you and compels you to live it out, on a daily basis. That no matter what circumstanced we find ourselves, we must learn to discover/rediscover the greatness that lie within us."

More importantly, when I stepped unto the podium at the NAFCA African Oscar in Hollywood California, and glanced down at the audience standing and cheering, I thought to myself, who could ever stop you from living an amazing life? Here you are, on the same podium you  had truly relished for years, here you are Dr. Princess Fumi Hancock, an African princess living in diaspora, the very first woman ever to  be awarded this great honor… all for my literary arts contribution.

Now, I am ready to share my journey, my discoveries, and lessons learned with the one who is now where I was before: a professional, career-oriented, entrepreneurial-spirited, sometimes confused, frustrated, stressed, overworked, overwhelmed, discontented with life, often depressed and pre-occupied with sleepless nights; the one who knows he/she is completely misaligned with destiny, and in agony when trying to discover his/her passion; that one who is desperately seeking ways to acquire wealth through their passion, but more importantly, desiring to live life full and leave life empty!

I have learned that it is not about the “occurrences” but the journey attached to them. It is about us discovering our “genius” in the middle of a raging storm. It is simply about understanding that our experiences were not designed to break us but to mold and shape us, so that we are ready to live an amazing life. More so, it is about total submission to the process understanding that only you can do you the best possible way. That the world is waiting for the genius to arise and take back his or her vision.

Books are an authors’ legs to the world. I believe that everyone is one step away from their breakthroughs. However, many do not understand how to leap from one point to the other. The goal(s) of this book is to inspire, motivate, and empower readers (primarily emerging professional entrepreneurs: (Life coaches, business coaches, speakers, authors, business consultants, online marketers, nurse-entrepreneurs e.t.c.) with tangible, practical tools to help them jump from where they are to where they ought to be. The second goal is to open for Dr. Hancock more meaningful platform(s) where she can share her legacy message to the world.

The Purpose & Mission for Writing the Book: Primarily to equip professional women (men secondarily) with entrepreneurial spirit ( that is, those in transition, and/or are ready to leap from a 9-5 environment to one where they are able to sparkle in their area(s) of brilliance either as a freelance consultant or business owner).

To accomplish this, the book will use my own life stories as a backdrop, encouraging readers to boldly “tear the veil™”, intentionally move past their pains/fears/ uncertainties, to master their brilliance, manifest it, and dominate their sphere of influence.  In other words, 7 Days to Release Your Amazing Life will encourage emerging professional entrepreneurs with applicable tools to discover/ rediscover, ignite, launch, live, and turn their passion into profit, while living an amazing life.

§  Fearless Visionaries (a blend between generation X & beginning baby boomers) are usually between the ages of 25 and 50.  Statistics show America alone has 44 million people between the ages of 25 and 40.  Said generation (X), are the MTV generations, who mostly live on the fast lane, desiring things to be presented in a fast yet simple manner.  They do not have time nor are patient to spend most of their time learning.  The baby boomers are now creating a segment within them. Those who have worked in corporate most of their lives, have the money to spend on improving themselves, are afraid of what will happen when they retire, tired of working for corporate, and feels they are ready to pursue their passion. However, they are unsure of ways to make it happen. Because many have worked in the corporate world, they are already used to deadlines; they are eager to learn, as the generation X, and feel they do not have enough time to be spending on long-term goals. Both groups are eager and ready for the next step. I understand both generations as I fall at the end of Generation X, with me, one year shy of the baby boomer generation. I therefore understand what drives both groups as well as how to communicate with them, as I currently do in my sessions with clients.

§  These Fearless Visionaries are technology savvy. They use technology to organize every area(s) of their lives (life, home, business).

§  A segment of my Fearless Visionaries often find themselves in the throes of transitioning- perhaps from a corporate position to finally living their dreams. However, there is a degree of fear of the unknown attached to their decision. As one who transitioned from being a Corporate Executive (Nurse Practitioner) to becoming a full time writer, speaker, coach; I understand their hesitation. More importantly, I understand that they do not have much time to sit through a 12 month program. This is why the book, 7 Days to Release Your Amazing Life is a high level, quick read, easy to digest with subsequent actionable steps is appropriate for today. In this read, I provide practical and proven solutions in an easy-to-absorb format.

§  Since they are professionals who are very familiar with technology, their lives are well organized, particularly the ages 28 – 42. They are familiar and very functional with cell phones, different apps which make their business function or job responsibilities well thought out. So they understand the need to read the information in the book swiftly and would also be interested in subsequent audio version and master classes which may be developed as an upgrade.

§  Many in the selected age bracket hit what is known as the midlife crisis. Some are confused as to what they needed to be doing with their lives. Some know what it is but do not know how to accomplish it. This is where discovering or rediscovering your passion is crucial. On this journey, I will show how to discover or re-discover your passion/vision/calling.

§  It is one thing to finally figure your mission in life; it is another to know how to set it on fire! Whatever we desire to do, we must learn how to ignite that passion in such a way that it lasts. §  Sustainability leads to profit. How do one turn ones’ passion into profit? Some believe that often your passion is your hobby and often hobbies do not generate income. While this may be so for some, it is not for others. If anyone was less likely to succeed at writing, it was me. Though it was a passion I loved, I had odds stacked against me: some said I was a black African woman, some said I was an immigrant… others said I was getting too old to fulfill my Hollywood dream … after all I was now over 50! I plowed, struggled, tilled the ground, got the beat down, got stolen from, raped literally… but yet I stood.  With several accolades behind me, it is such a great honor to prove all of my nay-sayers wrong! Your passion defies age, it defies what people think about you.. how they perceive you, what they think you will never accomplish. However, it will never defy how you feel about yourself… it will never defy your mindset. Because of this, I have learned to pay it all forward! Living my passion, master and dominating my brilliance has now given me the opportunity to pay it forward. My book shows you the  importance of paying it forward and how you  too can accomplish that.

§  Success in life is hardly achieved outside of relationship… healthy relationships. It is therefore important that we learn how to garner relationships which will enrich our lives. Since many of my fearless visionaries are busy working on their own career or their start-up businesses, this is the right time to understand the importance of ideal and meaningful relationships/ partnerships. I will show how to develop relationships which provide the support needed to accomplish our goals, vision, mission, with ease.

§  Often my fearless visionaries are not afraid to work hard. In fact, they believe that it will take an incredible amount of work to achieve their successes. Some even believe that their personal lives must be put on hold to achieve success or an amazing life where business creation is concerned.  My goal in this book is to show them that living an amazing life does not begin or end with owning a business. In fact, I dare to say that not everyone  is designed to run a business and because my brother is a medical doctor does not guarantee that I will be successful in  medical school. Again, we must learn how to stop fighting ourselves and simply surrender to the process. A ‘stinky thinking” riddled mind will never see the glass half full.

PAYING IT FORWARD: In this chapter, I will be sharing my own life journey back to Africa… my commitment to mother Africa, starting with 50 children I take care of in Emure kingdom, under The Princess of Suburbia Foundation, Inc. (The Adassa Adumori Project) (http://adassafoundation.org/) . The following is a partial picture of  my 50 children I single-handedly send to school. In my 10 years of starting this non-profit, we have served over 500 children and we need more support to make this happen for other children. 

Many recipients of the scholarship have become college graduates and viable persons in the society.  More importantly, they are back in their communities giving back too.

To date, author has 9 out of her 20 books as Amazon Bestsellers in different categories. Two of the books have remained on the best seller list for over two years. As an author who also coaches others to write books, she has helped in making her students Amazon bestsellers. RADIO-TV INTERVIEW REPORT
Author will pay for advertising in the Radio-TV Interview Report. This report reaches more than 4,000 producers, hosts and program directors at radio and television programs nationwide. It has helped more than 6,000 authors get on the air.

STRATEGIC ALLIANCES
Social media in particular live-streaming has become a huge platform for people to  get their needs met at a fast pace. As a result, many are tuning on to several shows on YouTube, Instagram, Periscope, Snap Chat etc. Dr. Princess Fumi Hancock has garnered a list of social media influencers who have agreed to help promote the book, as they have done in the past.

Graphics such as the book cover and the authors pictures will be accessible for download too. Several trailers will be produced by authors’ team to enhance and bring more awareness to the book. Lead magnets will be introduced to capture information of the visitor to these websites or land pages created for the promotion of this book. The websites will also include free quizzes, reports, and information that visitors will receive by entering their demographic and contact information.

She also plans to promote 7 Days to Release Your Amazing Life with several mailings to our database. As a Nurse Practitioner, Fumi Hancock is engaged in several several International Nurse Organizations. Her goal is to target mailing list of nurses who are looking to transition into Nurse-Entrepreneurship. The Storyteller Bistro™ ( a Princess of Suburbia® Company) hosts a podcast which is now available on Itunes, Soundcloud, & Spreaker. Plans to place it on more platforms are being considered.  The 5 minutes Success Blueprint podcast is equally on both platforms. Author will present book to listening audience and encourage them to purchase the book, wherever they are tuning in.

Author will pay to have  press releases ran through this medium. This will bring to awareness the possible book tour and interviews.

Depending on when this book will be published, it will be my 21st or 22 book. 9 of my books have been Amazon bestsellers. I owe this to my launch team who are housed in one of my facebook groups.

The best way to launch a book and generate the kind of attention you need in order to make your book a best seller and/or just give it the best chance at success, you need two things:

1. An incentive for people to buy your book, the week the book launches (the opinions on whether preorders count for your first week or sales vary, so this strategy doesn't include preorders).

2. A strong word-of-mouth campaign.

            For the other books I have launched, there were at least 7 steps my team and I took when launching any of my books. These steps fall under the following 3 phases of Marketing & PR:

1. Pre-launch. The marketing campaign I’ll release to build desire before the launch.

2. Mid-launch. The activities I’ll do on and around the week of your launch to ensure success.

3. Post-launch. Will focus on finishing strong, learn from this launch and blow customers’ minds.

The following is just a check list of what myself and my team at storytellerebistro have followed through the years:

1. Pre-launch: Build (2-3- months before book launch)

Planning the launch:

Build a separate website or page for your book and give away a free chapter or excerpt of the book in exchange for people's emails. Use this site to announce the cover and title and let people know you're doing something special for the launch.

Step 1: (Week 1) Big announcement

Announce on my blog(s) (http://storytellerbistro.com/blog/ and http://www.yourinneryou.com/  to build anticipation. We will give something away in addition to the book (e.g. my last book, an exclusive audio program, etc.). Goal at this phase: capture as many emails as possible. Provide a landing page for this. Create the book site 2 to  3 months ahead.

*** Announce Storyteller Bistro Book Club series returns – collect emails of those interested to comme on and chime in.

Step 3: Reward the tribe with an electronic copy of the  book and encourage  them to  read. Send a hardcopy in the  mail to them.

Step 4: (Week 2) Will create conversations around the release. E.g. create online chats where  others can share similar stories.

Author will reach out to write about 5 – 10 guest posts and interviews for o ther influential blogs.

Author will also write up a discussion relevant others to chime in – Author is currently a Huffington  Post / Thrive Global contributor.

***Create urgency for the book.

***Reach to various media outlets: Radio, TV, & Print Media.

Step 5: (Week 3) Will do something remarkable.

Example 1 – offering a free copy of the  book to the  first 100 people who  make a donation to The Princess of Suburbia Foundation.

Example 2 – invite others to donate one book to a woman at a homeless shelter / prison.

***Generate an event page for people to learn more about the philanthropic work and how they can be a part of not just purchasing a book but a great cause.

***Reach out to various media outlets for possible coverage

***Create a FREE Webinar around it. Invite others to attend.

***Create affiliate/ strategic partners to drive the sales

Step 6: (Week 3/4) Collect reviews

Will email my list of advance readers asking for feedback on the book. Will include testimonials page on the  book site and inform people of its impending usage.Will target at least 20 -25 reviews.

Step 7: Launch Week – The Promo (Week 5)

Ask the launch team to tell their friends about the book. Have them blog, tweet, Facebook, etc. Offer promotion / give away deals here.

For example: Give away an electronic version of book to  anyone who  purchases the book.

Publish blogs on  Huffington Post / Your Inner You / Storytellere Bistro.

There have been many popular books on personal development, coaching, becoming successful, and living ones’ best life.  Many of them deal with goal setting, performance, and coping in life.
