Book Proposal Writing Contests2020Ideas that change people, businesses, and the world for the better |
Every day, about 400 million stars are born in nebulae, dazzling star nurseries scattered throughout our observable universe. The vast lengths in time and space give us a seemingly static view of our night sky, yet everything is in a constant state of flux.
Our world is also constantly changing, in violent volcanic spurts and quakes that thrust mountains upwards; or slowly, in the tireless erosion of rivers through gorges and gusty winds that sculpt mountains. Time flows on past seasons without pause; consciousness streams uninterrupted through our humble, ephemeral lives on Earth.
Whether we like it or not, change is the pervasive driving force in the ongoing evolution of our selves, our cultures and beliefs. Nothing remains stagnant and unchanging. Those willing to embrace change may survive, and even even thrive, and those that do not face obsolescence and a slow fade into obscurity.
Philosopher Friedriche Nietzsche wrote, “The snake which cannot cast its skin has to die. As well the minds which are prevented from changing their opinions; they cease to be mind.” Transformation is key to existence, and death is merely another change that makes way for new things to come.
Even stars that endure for millions and trillions of years are not eternal. When it inevitably burns through its fuel, it fades away, or explodes in a spectacular supernova that briefly outshines entire galaxies, leaving expanding clouds of hot gas that eventually turns back into a dynamic star-birthing nebula once again.
There are 6 different ways a star can go supernova, and many more ways to live a life. Our fates are not determined by our births - we can relinquish our old ideas, renounce the superfluous, and kill our egos. Only by braving the crucibles of transformation can we rise from the ashes of the banal and emerge exceptional.
Publishizer is proud to host a series non-fiction book proposal contests to inspire in 2020. We invite authors to share their ideas and stories with the force of a supernova, and inspire the next step forward in our evolution.
