Swaady MARTIN is a serial entrepreneur and author. She has ~20
years experience in Business Management, Brand Building and New Business Model
development working with the multinational GE (General Electric) and various
entrepreneurial ventures (family businesses, start-ups). She is the founder
& CEO of YSWARA, a social enterprise; transforming African agricultural
commodities locally to contribute to the reversal of the African commodity
trap. Swaady is also the author/creator of the “Luxe Ubuntu” concept, an
inclusive business model providing economic value and meaningful income to all
the members of the supply chain, who participate in the production of products.
In January 2018, she launched SHIFT WITHIN, a platform offering
courses, programs, workshops, retreats and gatherings with a selected group of
extraordinary global changemakers in the field of mindfulness, holistic
wellness, life coaching, embodiment and neuroscience. All the Shift Within programs
are designed to bring self-realization, balance and empowered living so that
together we can create a better world, the world we want to live in.
She has received numerous distinctions and awards. She is an
Archbishop Desmond Tutu Leadership Fellow and was named “The Queen of African
Luxury” by FORBES in 2013. The same year, she was named by the same publication
(FORBES), one of “The top 20 young Africans building the future of Africa”. In
2014, she was listed on Oprah Winfrey’s “O’ Power List” and named one of the
“Youngest Power Women in Africa” by FORBES. In 2011, Swaady was named “New
Leader of the Future” by the Forum of Crans Montana.
Swaady is a strong advocate of conscious entrepreneurship,
consciousness, women empowerment and leadership. She is currently a Board
Member of the African Leadership Institute (Afli), a member of the Impact
Committee for the I&P IPAE2 Fund, a Trustee of the Nirox Art Foundation and supports the Institute for Mindfulness South Africa (IMISA).

Each book presents Malaika's encounter with a spiritual theme and how it plays out in her everyday life.
Book 1: INTUITION
Malaika meets Rafiki, her guardian angel. She is introduced to the role of her special spiritual friend but also learns how to attune to her feelings, develop and trust her intuition.
Book 2: BEING
Malaika learns about the natural law of actions and reactions and compassion. She meets the Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. With Michael, she reflects on anger and gossiping. Gabriel teaches her that what matters most is "being" versus "doing" and Raphael shares some precious earth treasures for her wellbeing.
Book 3: HARMONY
Malaika explores the causes of wars and the importance of compassionately and lovingly embrace all differences. With the Angel Sala, she discovers the treasures of meditation, prayer and contemplation. She goes onto a journey of Harmony.
Book 4: ONENESS
Malaika is taken inwardly to tend her soul like a beautiful garden. She learns about being an earthcarer and loving Mother Nature. She is introduced to the oneness of all.

BELIEF SYSTEMS
Research (http://www.rcgd.isr.umich.edu/) has shown that we all learn our belief systems as little children. It is the very belief system that functions as the foundation of our entire life. This means that adults move through life trying to experience situations that match their beliefs learned from childhood. But it also means that we are often bound to the limiting beliefs learned during childhood. These negative thought patterns can be attributed to childhood conditioning or unconsciously picking up negative beliefs.
For this very reason, it is so important to help your children establish a supportive belief system showing them a positive attitude to life. By doing so we can help our children to internalize good values and positive beliefs, which allows them to develop confidence and a healthy dose of self-esteem.
CONSCIENTIOUSNESS
Two recent reviews have documented the power of personality to predict consequential outcomes (Ozer & Benet-Martínez, 2006; Roberts, Kuncel, Shiner, Caspi, & Goldberg, 2007). Significant aspects of adult well-being predicted by childhood personality traits include mortality, marital outcomes, educational attainment, career success, the quality of peer and family relationships, and antisocial behaviors. One childhood trait that emerges as a surprisingly consistent predictor is conscientiousness and its close associates. Conscientiousness refers to a broad constellation of attributes reflecting industriousness, orderliness, and self-control. Adults who are high on conscientiousness in childhood are more likely to achieve life success, scholastic and career performance, to stay married or employed, and are less likely to endanger themselves and others by unhealthy, risky, or even criminal behaviors.
SPIRITUALITY
Spiritual practices aren’t just for adults. Children come naturally to many of the time-honored ways that people use to get closer to the sacred; to family, friends, and community; and to the world around them. They can teach adults about being present, enthusiasm, imagination, play, and wonder—to name just a few.
So many of the things that children do are naturally spiritual: They can gaze at ants on an anthill for hours. That’s mindfulness. They feel a sense of despair when they see a homeless person. That’s compassion, or mercy. Elementary-aged children are profoundly concerned with fairness, or justice, and they feel lifted up by helping other people. That’s charity. Additional research has shown that in families with a propensity for depression, the incidence of depression in children is reduced by 80 percent when the child shares a spiritual outlook with the mother. When teenagers have harsh or judgmental parents, the effects of that kind of parenting are mitigated by as much as 70 percent if the teen can call on some kind of direct, personal relationship with a higher power.
