The Why

When I look back on my life of nearly six decades, I have realized that in many ways my Why has rarely changed, only that the core essence of my ‘Why’ has become much clearer.

I believe I am here ‘to inspire others to inspire themselves to live with a global mindset without borders’.

By ‘global’, I mean both the global conscious interior of yourself as well as the external environment.

By ‘without borders’, I mean our ability to self-lead without limitations, physical or geographic borders or the layers of restrictions that we manage day-to-day, whether they are our own mental & physical constraints or those that are imposed upon us.

The Who

I really am a Global Nomad. I’ve lived on four continents, in 15 cities, presented workshops, speeches and coached in nearly 20 countries and have visited different towns & cities too numerous to list.

I continue to travel, both mentally and physically.

My background is typically Canadian; a boy born & raised in a logging camp who moved to the city and learned to love to figure skate, but who thought he ought to become a Doctor. I followed my love of figure skating and became a Canadian Junior Ice Dance Champion. I turned professional, and in turn, found my forte was in choreographing other’s performances.

I dreamt of being a World Champion and did so by choreographing for elite national, world and Olympic figure skating champions. Working with these amazing people was just as great, or even better, than competing itself.

I didn’t stop there – my nomadic mindset kept moving!

I was fortunate enough to be contracted to direct and choreograph large-scale productions such as the Closing Ceremonies of the 1988 Calgary Olympic Games, Disney On Ice and Holiday on Ice. A natural path led me into film-making and I won many awards as a Director/Editor of Short Dance Films. My first book, “Aha, Mother’s Pearls”, came out in 2008. Are you beginning to be inspired? I am!

The Present and The Future

All of this has led me to where my passion is now, working in Leadership at MNC’s (Nestle, Givaudan, Club Med, Total …) and the European Union as a Global Keynote Speaker, Facilitator, and Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Leadership Coach. I am so grateful to have expanded beyond the traditional physical and mental boundaries, embraced and leveraged my past and continue to be curious and explore new pastures. That is a nomadic mindset. The richness this brings is profound with all the people I meet of different ages, genders, races, religions, and status. Wow!

I feel amazingly blessed at the choices I have made, good and bad, the Aha Moments I have had and what I have created for my life. It hasn’t been all easy going and it continues to be up and down. I would not have it any other way, as this fluidity is what drives me. It is this nomadic mindset that allows me to be curious, relish new experiences and, most of all, cultivate my love for humankind and all nature.

My life is focused on the diversity of individuals and I get great joy and excitement to see my clients – everyone, in fact – smile, rejoice and transform. It is magnificent.

Exploring the behaviors of a nomadic mindset continues in my upcoming leadership book, keynote speaking and training called,
