Update #6 - One Last Round Before Sundown April 9, 2019

"Here's the crazy ones.  The misfits, the rebels, the trouble makers, the round pegs in the square holes, the ones who see things differently.  They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo.  You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.  About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.  Because they change things."  -Apple, Inc

Neal Patterson, Former CEO of Cerner, was always pushing boundaries.  His passion for changing healthcare was rooted in a tenacity most people couldn't understand.  At times, it was this relentless tenacity and passion that made him appear rigid and inflexible. The reality was Neal didn't waste any time.  Coming from humble beginnings on a farm in Oklahoma, his hardened work ethic began with his father's insistence that his sons should not stop their work until they had made 'one last round before sundown'.(Neal's obituary).  It was his work ethic coupled with a drive to change healthcare that t fueled his life's work.

Neal was never shy about sharing his vision to disrupt the status quo beliefs the healthcare system so tightly clung to.  His vision evolved at such a rapid pace because he was constantly leveraging new data points to refine it's accuracy with laser focus.  It was this rapidly evolving vision that became the rally cry for his people to execute the next big thing the company would go do.

Even during his own battle with soft tissue cancer, he gave an impassioned speech at a surprise appearance at the Cerner Health Conference where over 15,000 attendees heard him share his own personal experiences with healthcare and the need for making the patient experience better. If playing it safe had a counterpoint, Neal's life and legacy would be one of the greatest contenders of all time.

Neal's legacy as a mega-disruptor of the healthcare industry and his blatant disrespect for the status quo will be a focus in Change Deviants: The exit strategy to playing it safe.  It will unravel the behaviors that made him a change catalyst and discuss their practical application to your life.

It's time to disrupt the status quo of your life.  You only have 6 more days to support my crowd-funding effort and snag your copy of Change Deviants: The exit strategy to playing it safe.  Every copy sold gets me one step closer to working with a publisher who can make me better.
