Hello, building science advocates.  I appreciate all the pre-orders you've placed and the support you've shown.  As of this writing, the book has 676 pre-orders, and my contact at Publishizer told me that I broke the record for the fastest campaign to 500 pre-orders.  Thanks to you all for that!

The amount funded as of today is nearly $17,000.  That's more than many of the campaigns on Publishizer and if that's where the campaign ended, I'd consider it a success.  

But here's an example of what's possible.  Back in 2012, Seth Godin did a Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund his book, The Icarus Deception.  He figured he needed $40,000 to really grab the attention of traditional publishers.  He ended up with nearly $300,000 — because, hey, he's Seth Godin — and the book was a great success.

I'm not going to hit his numbers, but the closer I can get to his goal of $40,000, the better the chances for this book to get into the hands of the many, many people who need it.  You can help me get there by letting your friends, family, and coworkers know about this campaign.  

Also, if you belong to a group like a local home builders' association, building science discussion group, or AIA chapter, see if they'd be interested in pre-ordering at the level of 100 or 250 copies.  With those, your group would also get a half-day or full-day workshop.

The Austin chapter of the Passive House Alliance did just that.  After a unanimous vote, they pre-ordered 100 copies so I'll be doing a half-day workshop for them when the book comes out.  Is your group ready to do that?
