He has won numerous education awards, and was nominated for Oregon Teacher of the Year in 2019. He holds bachelors and masters degrees in music composition and theory from the University of Portland, and is also a published composer and arranger.

Update #3 - What's Happening Nov. 20, 2019

Here is what has happened since my book campaign began on publishizer.com three weeks ago:

1.  88 copies of the book have been pre-purchased.

2.  5 publishers have expressed interest in publishing the book.

3.  I have been asked to speak to the students and faculty at the Delphian School on the chapter "Tolerance and Acceptance".  I will be speaking on December 6 at 9am.

4.  Yamhill County public broadcasting has asked me to be on the show "The Writing Life" hosted by Stephen W. Long.  I will be recording the episode on March 11.
