Dear Friends and supporters of Abyssinian in Africa,
Thank you for your patience and constant support on this journey.
The last three months had been a great learning experience.
Learning about creative process and how to navigate the world of publishing.
It’s always wonderful to get positive feedback and requests to read my entire manuscript to determined if Abyssinian nomad in Africa is the best fit for their publishing companies.
And Yes, they also wanted the manuscript to be polished and ready to publish almost.
I thought that was a good start, and the process kept me busy and motivated. Until I found out all the publishing house that I’m approaching or interested in Abyssinian nomad needed at least minimum 3 moths just to read the manuscript. And if agreed to publish might take another 8- 12 months to put the book to market.
That is when I needed a little more soul searching. Going back to basic, and asking myself why I wanted to write this book? And what are my options?
I’m not going to lie to you giving up didn’t cross my mind, it did!! While I waited to hear from publishers and sending my quarries to more publishers in the market, I decided to take a little break from writing , editing and embarked on a long bus journey from Montreal to Vancouver,BC. Yes that was Three and half days sitting on a bus.
The three days and half provided the rest , change of scenery and clarity I was looking in my mind. I love traveling and there is no doubt about that. The reason I wrote Abyssinian Nomad in Africa, is in a hope sharing my true stories will inspirer readers to
Have a dream, and go after their own dreams, but not only that the important of having faith when it seemed everything is falling apart in our life. Most of all I also wanted to say thank you to strangers who turned to family and friends, people who believed in my dream and help make it come true. Like what you are doing here, supporting me to tell my story.
So my decision is made, I will no longer wait for publishers to publish Abyssinian Nomad in Africa. I’m taking the self-publishing path. It’s going to cost me money, especially after paying 30% to Publishzer for providing the platform. But still I don’t want to make you wait to read Abyssinian Nomad in Africa, and I too want to continue writing, more books and keep sharing my stories. Of course travel too.
So here you go, I’m working hard to bring Abyssinian Nomad in Africa before the end of the year. Do you want to be added to my ACR? (Advanced Review Copy) readers before the release. If you do, pls let me know.
Would love to hear your thoughts, and thanks again for being part of this important journey in my life.
I’ll leave you with a little expert from Abyssinian Nomad in Africa-
“Our conversation was dominated by her wishes, and I secretly hoped one of my sisters would carry them out, knowing deep inside me that I would do anything for my mother except that. We had been discussing her desire for a grandchild for a long time, and she had a tendency to keep bringing the subject up, hoping for a miracle and my change of heart.”
Thank you,
Maski
