Synopsis

In Acting; Beyond the Script, Ken Feinberg introduces the “Buffet Method,” offering a variety of tools actors can try and adopt based on what fits their unique style. He makes acting accessible, focusing on both the technical and emotional sides of the craft& things like script analysis, character work, audition prep, and learning to “be” instead of just “perform.” The book is full of exercises, personal stories, and classroom-tested insights that help actors grow on and off the stage.

At its heart, Acting: Beyond the Script is about collaboration over competition. Ken encourages actors to support one another and build a strong, professional reputation through preparation, kindness, and consistency. He also offers real-world guidance on navigating the industry—from spotting scams to building relationships with agents and casting directors.

More than anything, this book is about becoming a grounded, authentic, and emotionally aware person—because those are the qualities that make great actors. Whether you're just starting out or deep into your training, Acting: Beyond the Script is a smart, down-to-earth resource that reminds you to trust yourself, do the work, and enjoy the process.

About the author

Ken Feinberg's journey in the world of acting and directing has been nothing short of remarkable. Starting from his passion for performing in plays during his school years, then honing his craft by majoring in film at UGA, with minors in drama and art, then taking his talents to New York and eventually to LA, where he delved into acting and directing in films, TV and theater.

Ken played memorable characters on such series as Star Trek Enterprise, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed, Alias, and others. and others. While i’m repertory theater in LA, Ken discovered his natural gift for directing. This newfound talent propelled him to become the Artistic Director of a theater company in Atlanta, where he directed the Atlanta premieres of acclaimed Broadway shows and even an original musical production of Willy Wonka.

Ken started teaching actors in Beverly Hills in the early 2000s. A young Yuri Lowenthal was one of Ken’s earliest pupils.

After years of playing “the big guy,” Ken saw the business moving toward Georgia, so he returned home and established the Creative Studios of Atlanta, focusing on nurturing creativity and training aspiring actors, writers and directors. His dedication to the craft led him to launch the CSA Film Academy, providing a platform for young talents to thrive and gain valuable training as well as on-set experience.

in 2013, Ken was honored with the “outstanding achievement award for his contribution to the film industry in Georgia”. Ken's influence is evident through the success stories of actors he helped in the beginning of their careers including: Storm Reid (Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time), Kyla Drew (starred in series on Nickelodeon and Netflix), Julia Reilly (County Rescue), Madison Thompson (Ozark) and Lexi Minetree (Elle Woods in the new Legally Blonde series) among others.

His commitment to education extended to teaching screenwriting two summers in Tuscany, Italy where he produced multiple short films in an actors intensive.

Ken recently wrote a book on what he teaches young actors called Acting: Beyond the Script, a book on acting principles set for publication this year.

Ken continues to inspire others through his directing and producing. His Current film Love and Taxe$ has only two actors and the film and it was shot in one take. The film has been winning awards on the festival circuit including the Best Comedy Feature at the UK Film Awards in London. A few years ago, Ken directed the award winning Christmas Comedy Santa’s Boot Camp starring his young acting students. The premise of the story was to teach kids to be nicer to each other. The movie
was distributed through Sony Pictures.

Recognized for his leadership and mentorship, Ken's calm and caring approach motivates others to embrace creativity and enthusiasm both on and off the set.

Ken's journey is a testament to his passion for the arts and his unwavering commitment to empowering the next generation of talent in the film industry.

Dear Author,

You worked hard to write your manuscript, and you know that expert assistance is needed to ready it for the market. But perhaps you didn’t realize that working with a publisher is no longer necessary—especially publishers who charge fees to produce your book upfront and "share" more of your revenue whenever a book is sold.

1106 Design is an author services company that has served over 4,000 authors since 2001. We offer all the editorial and design services you’d expect from a publisher, transforming your manuscript into a polished book. But here's the difference: we help you secure print-on-demand printing and worldwide distribution in YOUR name. This means you'll earn several dollars more for every book sold instead of a meager “royalty” and never lose control of your book or your book files.

We understand that your book is not just a passion project but also a potential source of income. No two books or authors are alike. That's why we'll customize a package of services tailored to your needs at affordable prices, starting at $5,555. And here's the best part: after this one-time investment, every penny of revenue from book sales is deposited directly to your bank account, never to ours first.
