Greetings readers!
I hope you’ve been keeping well since my last update. I have a number of exciting announcements for you.
First off, I will soon be confirming a release date for 'Athletes Who Rock!'
I’ve been working hard with my publishers to finalize the cover, and should have a mock draft in my hands this week. It’s been a four-year adventure, so this is feeling pretty surreal to say the least.
The book promises to be an aesthetically beautiful production. It features 58 stunning images, many of which are full page, capturing the true spirit of the 15 remarkable athlete-musicians interviewed.
We are aiming to release 'Athletes Who Rock' in time for Christmas shopping – and I promise, the book will make an awesome Christmas gift to any fan of music or sports, or inspiring stories in general. More news on that front will follow shortly.
My second announcement is that I’m also releasing an e-book about Michael Jackson’s secretive life in Bahrain … wait, what? Yes, I realize this will appear out of the blue to most of you, but I’ve been working diligently behind the scenes on this story for more than a year!
You can pre-order 'When the Sheikh met the King: The complete oral history of Michael Jackson’s bizarre, secretive year in Bahrain' through this Amazon link. The release date is January 11, 2022.
You can also read a snippet of the book from my story published in The Guardian today (hot off the press!).
Finally, I’m moving this mailing list over to one run through my personal website www.motezbishara.com, where you will get updates on 'Athletes Who Rock’s imminent release date and pre-order options.
Naturally, if you would prefer not to receive these updates you can unsubscribe at any time.
Many thanks again for your continued enthusiasm and support for 'Athletes Who Rock' and for your unyielding patience. As anyone who has ever written a book will tell you, it’s a big undertaking with many moving parts. But the result will be worth the wait, I promise!
I will be back in touch again soon. In the meantime have a great week and keep on rockin’!
Best,
Motez
