Nourish Your Mind, Heal Your Body and Detox From The Digital World
Bird Is The Word explores how we can nourish our mind and body by using the everyday practice of bird watching–just like yoga, meditation or reading- and access a powerful 'medicine' to heal our uncertainty, social distraction, and act as a digital detox.
Thanks so much for your support - it means a lot as you might imagine.
We have just one week to go and I've introduced 2 new bonuses: Workplace Wellness for small businesses (10 copies of Bird Is The Word and a bespoke bird watching walk with me) and Birds of a Feather for friend or family groups (5 copies and a place for 5 on a bird watching walk)

This weekend I was in Devon, up on Exmoor near Tarr Steps. When you're bird aware you engage all your senses. Sight, sound, scent and a spacial awareness.
You get familiar with certain terrains and you start to get the feeling that somehing special is about to happen. A 6th sense kicks in. It's a sort of magical feeling. That you might see a 'so and so' and this is what happend on Sunday.
We were walking alongside the River Barle and the water got more shallow as it rounded a bend. It fell into my mind that this is exactly the sort of place where we might see a Dipper and then suddenly there he was standing on a rock.
Black body, broad white chest, bobbing and dipping up and down looking at the water intently. We watched him for a good few minutes until he was startled by a dog on the bank and flew off. He actually walks under water looking for lunch.
This 6th sense feels so ancient, so life affirming, like we would have trained ourselves in this in order to survive.
I've loved Dippers since I first saw them as a child in the Yorkshire Dales. They signify wild country, mountain streams, fresh air, deliciously quiet spots. Exactly the kind of place to recharge and reconnect to the deeper earth rhytyms.
