Within 15-minutes of emailing Dr. Nido Qubein, President of High Point University, he was all over the Chief Leadership Officer concept and book project. Part of his angel investment in the message included a trip to HPU to be interviewed for broadcast on North Carolina Public TV and other uses.
Dr. Qubein and I sat down on Feb. 2, 2018 and did the entire interview in one shot. He's truly a legendary communicator and leader with a twinkle in his eye and a heart for helping people be on-purpose. The photo above was taken just after the interview.

Do yourself a favor. If you're anywhere near High Point, NC make a point of visiting the campus. As Judith and I drove off the campus, I told her, "If Disney and the Ritz-Carlton decided to start a university, then High Point University is what they would produce."
On your visit, pay attention to the creative, Disney-like details - inspirational quotes etched into bricks, life-sized sculptures of famous people and their quotes inviting sit on benches welcoming you to sit a spell with them. There's a student lounge with half of an airplane first class seating area so students can learn how to communicate when flying. Look for the giant DNA strand in the Sciences Building, or the stately reception area in the College of Business. There's even 1924 Prime, a high end restaurant included on the student dining plan where the wait staff are faculty who coach the students on manners and etiquette. Nido wants students to know how to conduct themselves in polite company. Nothing worse than bad manners ruining a relationship or business deal!
While traversing the campus, I interacted with team members who work on the campus. From the security guards, to maintenance crew, to tour guide, to dining services cashiers, to the faculty, I discovered an energy and enthusiasm about their work and opportunity to serve. It was ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen ala the Ritz-Carlton.
Thank you High Point University for a lasting impression and an interview to share with the world about Chief Leadership Officer and On-Purpose!.
Thanks to you, The Business Reformation Has Begun!
