Dating "Disability"

Emily Goodson

Intimacy issues are widespread.

What if being a person with a disability made you more equipped to thrive in intimate relationships, rather than inhibited you?

And what if the skills I've learned from my lifelong physical disability could help all of us have stronger intimate relationships?

Update #12 - Your Dating Disability Books Are on the Way! Oct. 13, 2025

Dear friends and readers,

I’m so excited to share that if you pre-ordered Dating Disability as part of last summer’s crowdfunding campaign, your books are officially in the mail and on their way to you!

I received the first copies on Thursday night and spent the weekend organizing and packaging them. Most of you will receive your books in a pink envelope within the next two weeks, and some of you in VA, CA, and NY will receive in-person deliveries. (If you are one of my international friends, please expect your books in four weeks, but know they are en route!)

I cannot thank you enough for the support you’ve given this book—and me. I truly hope you enjoy reading the finished product, and if you do, there are a few ways you can continue to support the book and my writing:

  • Leave a review on Goodreads (there are already two new followers who want to read it!)
  • Post a picture of the book on social media and tag me (@ecgoodson)
  • Encourage your friends and local bookstores to purchase the book
  • Subscribe to my new Substack, which expands on many of the tools and mindsets referenced in the book (there are both free and paid options available)

I’ll be in touch next month with eBook access instructions for those who pre-ordered through the crowdfund. In the meantime, I’d love to hear your thoughts once your physical copies arrive.

Lastly, if you donated books as part of the campaign, please know that your copies are on their way to several wonderful organizations, including Disability:IN, Disability Belongs, NYU Langone Hospital, and the Ronald McDonald House. And they are very grateful for your generosity,

Thank you again for your incredible support—and please don’t hesitate to reach out. Wishing you all the best!

Warmly,
Emily
