Elevating Discomfort in Service of Life-long Learning
License to Learn delivers a flexible and intriguing "map." With it, Anna invites you to see life's challenges (chosen and unchosen) differently, and make meaning from them in new ways. This is the first book in a non-fiction trilogy aiming to elevate the experience of discomfort in solving many current cultural and environmental challenges.

Hello to you, my early supporters!
I'm writing first to thank you! Even amidst this pandemic and all the unknown that comes with it, you give me hope. Perhaps my campaign also gives some hope - that we can and will discover a new "normal" together. The discomfort of the present is something to learn from, that is for sure. As the title of the non-fiction trilogy (with License to Learn as the first installment) that I envision writing is "Elevating Discomfort," I only wish I had written it all before now. One thing I have been pondering is the focus on toilet paper -- both humorously and seriously; perhaps TP is one way that people cling to comfort as a way through? Still pondering that one...
The second reason I write is to let you know that the campaign seems to be doing well. Among the 38 campaigns that are currently running on Publishizer, I am #1 in the category of Personal Growth and Self-Improvement. Truth be told, I was on the fence between running my campaign in that category or in Education. My book straddles both worlds, and has an Appendix specifically for teachers and leaders. Anyway, it seems I made a good choice! I just need 7 more orders to break 100, which will open up a new tier of publisher to consider my book. Then there is another tier beyond that.
Also, I very much appreciate the sharing (on facebook) that some of you have done announcing this campaign. That is fantastic! And it seems to be working, as I have a few orders from people I do not know. One suggestion is that when/if you share it, I think it works best if you say a few words about why you are sharing it. Then, your network has a bit more to go on besides just seeing the link. Again, thank you!
Lastly, the campaign runs until April 13th. This is the last day that people can purchase pre-orders as well as the bonuses at the price listed. I'm going to announce a "last call" a few days before that. If you want to share for the first time or re-share, that will be a great time to do so, I think.
Never having done this before, I am in the unknown of the publishing world as well as the unknown that we all share right now. Again, I can't thank you enough for your support of me and of this book.
Keep "the distance", stay healthy, and I'll be in touch again in a couple of weeks.
Cheers!
Anna
