Dear Magical people,
The clock is ticking toward the launching day when the final version of the book, Magician and Fool, will hit the printing press and digital wires. The final polish of edits is now winding down, book cover, t-shirt and mug art are being finessed and, in the next month or so, printed copies of the book, ebooks or campaign bonuses will be shipped to you from i2i Publishing.
Today in the mail, I received a gift - a deck of newly-issued tarot cards, the Smith-Waite Tarot Deck, from Stuart Kaplan at U.S. Games Systems, Inc.. These tarot cards are what Pamela Colman Smith created in the early 1900's and they are the main subject of my book. This new version of her tarot deck has a beautiful patina to it, with no borders on the cards. Stuart Kaplan, the man who discovered Pamela cards at a toy show in Germany in the 1970's and went on to publish them, sent them on to me. Stuart has always been incredibly generous to me, and I so appreciate this gift of Pamela's cards.
In breaking in the deck, I did a quick three-card spread. It was so timely, I thought I would share it with you. Here it is:
For me, in a basic reading of the cards, the tarot cards said this:
Tower: the Past - all the dismaying turn of events in the world, turning everything upside down. Change is sudden and drastic.
Queen of Wands: the Present - (I draw this card a lot when I do readings for myself.) The Queen's sunflowers depict fertility and blossoming, the black cat, the occult. Magic is in creation.
The Star: the Future - this is an encouraging sign for Pamela's star to rise, as the world begins to learn about this extraordinary person and artist.
I look forward to sending your pre-ordered books and bonuses to you. Thank you so much for all your support and help in the campaign to have my book published.
Light and Love,
Susan
