Update #13 - Two Weeks until London for Book Launch Sept. 22, 2017

Dear Friends,

Two weeks from today, I will be in London at the U.K. Tarot Conference and at book events at two stores, Watkins Books, a location in the book Magician and Fool, and Atlantis Bookshop, London's oldest independent occult bookshop.

The path to actually publishing a book is fraught and the fact that I will be able to send you a copy of my book, whether e-book or printed page, is a dream come true! Dreams take long range planning and strategy and the fact that I am even in this position is due to a lot of people on team Wands who have helped me along. First I would like to thank Lee Constantine and Guy Vincent, storm troopers of the Publishizer company, who helped me set up my April 30-day campaign to set the stage for pre-orders. Secondly, I would like to thank Cynthia Wands, who designed the brilliant artwork for the bonus mug and t-shirts.  I've attached a photos of them so you can see how great they look.

I would also like to thank master of trades, Robert Petkoff, who helped with everything from web design, book jacket design and composer of music for the video which he shot. And all my friends who helped me read and re-read the book for edits and suggestions are also angels of this project. Margaret Emory, Krystal Kennedy, Karen Mckendrick, Ryan Brown, Joel Jones, Jennifer Pooley and others, thank you!

So how did I get into Watkins Books to do a reading? Watkins Books is a gem of a bookstore in the heart of London. An esoteric bookshop in the heart of London established over 100 years ago, it has become one of the world's oldest and leading independent bookshops specializing in new and antiquarian titles in the Mind, Body, Spirit field. I read that Etan Ilfeld, the owner, owns an art gallery, two bookstores, a media company, organizes an international mind sports competition, a film festival, in addition to writing books, editing a magazine and producing films. He has also invented a form of chess that takes place underwater. This owner of Watkins Books is not your typical bookstore proprietor.

When I went on the Gothic Image Tour in June, I had prepared a pitch letter for Mr. Ilfeld to let me launch the book at his store. I arrived a couple days early for the tour and went into the store, hoping to meet him and pitch my book. I was told that he was in Scotland but that I could leave the letter downstairs in office. The staff was polite but busy. Slightly crestfallen after dropping off the letter, I went upstairs and had my tarot cards and palm read by an in-house reader, Swami Karma. He had read good things to say in the reading for my book, so I left embolden.

Two months letter, an email arrived saying that Watkins Books would schedule me for a presentation of Magician and Fool. For an independent author with a hybrid publisher, this is huge! There is no literary agent or publicist to help facilitate these sort of connections, so the fact that they would take me on is so very lucky! I will be giving a 30-minute talk, a 5 minute reading, followed by a Q & A session. They also record the talks, so you will be able to see the presentation about two weeks after the event. Here is the link to the authors presentation page.

If you know anyone in England who might be in London and would want to come to this free event, please pass on this invite so they can be sure to have a seat. Watkins Books seats 60 people.

And, lastly, here is the book jacket for the Magician and Fool.

Since the bonus items have arrived, I have been organizing to get  them ready to ship to those who have ordered them with their book. When I get my books in the next few weeks, I will send them all out as a package. I'll also offering these bonus items to people when they post reviews on Amazon.com, as reviews for the book will be of paramount importance. More on that later.

Thank you so much once again for your support and interest. It has meant the world to me.

Cheers!

Susan
