About the author

I am CEO and Co-Founder of EndoCanna Health, and held past positions as President of the CannabisAction Network and ​Board Member/Lifetime Member of the California Cannabis Association. Currently, I serve as chair of the CBDIA science board, and I am a ​stakeholder in some of the industry’s most iconic cannabis-based brands. My expertise includes the workings of the ​endocannabinoid system and how genetic expression plays a role in human experiences. ​As a Certified Medical Cannabis Specialist in Medicinal Genomics, I have an in-depth knowledge of genomics, cannabinoids and terpenes, and their interaction with the endocannabinoid system. Because of this expertise, each week I am invited by mainstream and industry news organizations to speak to people about cannabis. I have spoken internationally at conferences, seminars, on TV, and in podcasts throughout the US, Europe, and South America.

My co-author, Dr. Brian Kaufman, is a former journalist who covered the deregulation of the power industry, as well as sports and business in L.A. He’s also a tenured English professor and an up-and-coming stand-up comedian, although he says he’s not sure which profession brings him the most laughs.

As people learn more about the benefits of cannabis, the stigma once associated with its use is abating. No longer are people frowned upon for using a natural and unprocessed medicinal herb. Instead, people everywhere are discovering cannabis’s healing properties. My book tells the story of these discoveries, and how people can benefit from them.
