Malaysia's Canvas

James Springer

The blistering saga of a flash in the pan art revolution in Penang, Malaysia

In between 2010 and 2016, George Town, Penang, Malaysia, was gentrified beyond belief. This is the saga of the young, enterprising, opportunistic artists, curators, and organizers lighting the fire.

Update #12 - Publishing Contract Signed! Oct. 12, 2017

Dear All,

Well, it has finally been confirmed; "Malaysia's Canvas" will be published early next year!

I have signed with the Malaysian publisher Gerakbudaya (http://gbgerakbudaya.com/home/), founded by the legendary political prisoner Pak Chong with the aim of 'building a progressive mind' (membina minda progresif).

Needless to say, Gerakbudaya is renowned in Malaysia for publishing books that are thoughtful and even challenging, with a certain amount of spunk. They cover a range of topics in the realms of culture, politics and social studies, so "Malaysia's Canvas" will be in good hands indeed. Also, with production and distribution networks in

Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines, and even Hong Kong and China, it is sure to reach a sizeable readership. Of course, it will be published in English.

As for your copies and packages, they will be delivered to you by post or, if you are lucky enough to be in Penang when it is published, hand delivered to you personally.

I have all your details (name, email, postal address etc.) but should you need to contact me to make any changes then please email me at springer.jamesspringer@gmail.com.

The Publishizer page will be up and running for another week, after which it will shut down - the campaign having finished. If there are any other pre-orders to be made then now is the time to do it!

Once again, thank you for all your support with this campaign, as well as your much appreciated patience. It has been a very useful service but only valuable due to your involvement. You have all contributed to getting "Malaysia's Canvas" published and I am immensely grateful.

All the very best,

James
