Publisher!

And an illustrator!

It's been just shy of a month since the campaign ended, and two pieces of the publishing puzzle came together today. 

First, after assessing all my publication options, including self-publishing, I decided the best home for Monsters In My Belly was with Blue Balloon Books. This deal would not have been possible without your support, and, because of your support, I'll be able to produce a book consistent with my vision: a 7x7 baby-friendly board book instead of a print-on-demand paper book version. This may not seem significant, but it was a hugely significant detail to me and would not have been possible but for the funding and support generated by this crowdfunding campaign. 

Second, we locked in an illustrator, Alex Bar. Feel free to check out Alex's portfolio, though I actually asked Alex to produce some sample images to make sure he was the right fit for this project (HE IS!). The sample photos are exactly that, a sample, and I have some ideas on how to punch them up for the final edition, but I think they do give you an idea of what to expect and represent the quality he brings to the table. (The sample photos should be attached to this update.)

Still no idea on timeline to production, but two big wins today. If you have any questions or comments, let me know, I'd love the feedback and can't wait to get you a book worthy of your support.
