About the author

Teresa has been driving force behind innovation and growth.
Today, she wears multiple hats as a social entrepreneur, innovation expert, growth strategist, author and speaker (not to mention mother, wife, band-leader and so much more). She is especially passionate about helping CEOs understand and value the role human capital plays in innovation, and the impact that innovation has on humanity; in our ever-increasing artificial/cyber world.

Teresa shares her insights on these very topics (and more) as a member of the Forbes Technology Council. Throughout her career, she has worked for global brands like Tom Peters Company and Red Hat Software where she held senior executive positions and was responsible for leading revenue growth pre and post IPO. In addition, she has founded and led a number of entrepreneurial organizations through growth milestones including venture capital funding, IPOs, innovation consultancy, and technical services company.

Teresa has held many advisory board roles for startups and organizations such as Business Innovation and Growth Council, The Council for Entrepreneurial Development and The NC World Trade Association. As well, her passion for the arts and music can be witnessed first-hand when she performs as a singer/songwriter and guitarist as the lead singer of The Headless Chickens.

Synopsis

This heartfelt book opens with Teresa hiking the El Camino de Santiago in Spain. For her, the hike is metaphorical for her journey in life. As her toenails turn black and blue and her feet ache in pain from the miles she has walked, she thinks about the ups and downs of her entrepreneurial pilgrimage. While her current destination is clear and the path already laid out for her, she knows all too well that is not the case with most entrepreneurs.

In "Now That I Know", the author shares 8 new lessons to the 17 in the first volume. These lessons learned are from the many unexpected turns of the author’s own entrepreneurial journey. Each existing and the 8 new chapters of the book features personal and entertaining stories, observations and lessons such as “Hike till your mind goes empty” or “I did not dream big enough”- stories allowing reflection time and mental breaks from day to day life, stories on how people hold themselves back, the difference between men and women in leadership and entrepreneurship.

Teresa gained from those experiences and exercises to help readers prepare for the next step on their own journey.
