How Marie Dorion, Mountain Lamb & Owl Woman Shaped the West
The stories of several iconic American Indian women illustrate the pivotal role native women played in the Fur Trade and opening of the American West.
Hau Kolapis!
Here's where we are in the process of publishing Portraits of Women in the American Fur Trade. Because of all of you, the pre-orders went fantastically, and I ended up with 13 publishers interested in publishing it! You can see the list on the pre-order page (link below).
The next step in the process was to write a proposal for them all, and it must be submitted with a sample of the book. Thus, I hired a professional editor to polish the 40,000 word sample required. The deadline for editing to be finished is next week, August 7th!
Once we submit, I will receive an offer from each publisher and then I'll determine which one is giving me the best support and the best deal. I'll let you know who it ends up being!
Final publication date will be completely determined by the publisher and the production process undergone to get there. But the process is moving along, and I'm optimistic it will go smoothly.
Thanks again for your belief in my project! I appreciate you very much.
Love and light,
Kris
