Update #8 - Three months post-launch! Please leave a review for Startup Vietnam on Amazon and/or Goodreads! July 2, 2019

Startup Vietnam launched on April 2, so it's been a bit over three months since the launch date! Since then, I spent five weeks in Peru working with the startup ecosystem in the north (Piura) and in Lima, the capital.

With the HUB (incubator) Universidad de Piura (UDEP) team in Piura, Peru. (I'm seated on the left, with the beard.) :)

Also, I recently moderated an event in New York City, which featured Vietnamese and Vietnamese-American founders. (More photos on the Vietnam Finance Society's Facebook page.)

The event was at Company, which is where Republic's offices are. Thanks to Kendrick Nguyen for hosting us!

Now on to the reaction/reception to Startup Vietnam. Below are some reviews; I hope you'll agree with the reviewers. In any case, please leave an honest review on Amazon or on Goodreads.

Amazon Review #1:

  • "Anyone considering working or living in Vietnam, or anyone with an interest in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, should absolutely take the time to read this book. Carefully researched and full of data, the book is a highly informative and enjoyable read, with extensive recounts of the author's time in Vietnam to bring life to the empirical evidence presented."

Amazon Review #2:

  • "This book definitely provides valuable information on the current Vietnam based on the author's careful research and long-term experience in the country. 'It is also a universal truth that the good and the bad exist together, wherever the world you are' as written in the book. Luckily, the good and bad details of Vietnam and the people living in this country are written down in his neutral view. I, a Vietnamese person who has lived in three regions of Vietnam, found the author's analysis on the differences across these regions so true. ..."

Goodreads Review #1:

  • "A very refreshing and up-to-date take on not just the startup ecosystem but the overall economic scene in Vietnam! Andrew shared insightful statistics, thoughtful recommendations and interesting anecdotes/stories. As a Vietnamese living and working in London, this book was an amazing source of knowledge and inspiration for me to plan to head back to the homeland - a 5-star recommendation for any readers who are looking to visit, invest or return to Vietnam!"

Goodreads Review #2:

  • "This book is the most comprehensive book about the startup scene in Vietnam. One should expect to do months of field research to get the same amount of information in this book. I especially like the 'Request for Vietnamese Startups' inspired by YC. The request captured well the most burning problems in Vietnam and helped direct me to the right focus when moving back to Vietnam. ..."
