The bad habit of mobile devices
Inspiring others to learn from my mistake to become more mindful of what they do while driving. Be safe, not sorry.
Cell phones used in cars is a risky driving behavior. There are many people getting injured or killed, and most of these people either go to school or have some type of occupation. Employers are missing valuable work hours and students are losing study hours. Society as a whole has a bad habit with mobile devices.
This book tells the author's story of being manipulated by her phone and her addiction to instant gratification. Tasha had a car crash in
2012 while texting with her phone. The consequences were nefarious: Tasha was airlifted to the hospital where she stayed for 6 weeks undergoing reconstructive surgery. She lost 8% of her body's skin including her right ear and cheek. She had to endure five years of reconstructive surgery to repair her body and mind. All this, just for a text message. Now she shares her story of survival to anyone who will listen in the hopes of helping someone else make safer driving choices.
"Texting Is Risky Business" addresses addiction, cell phone misuse, a quiz to understand your level of addiction to help you understand the problem and a program to help you solve the problem.
The author wants to raise awareness around the dangers of using your mobile device while driving and the negative impact it has on people. She goes to schools, churches, and corporate organizations to tell her story and raise awareness of the importance of the consequence of cell phone use while driving. She offers her help to those who need it and are interested in spreading awareness of the topic.
