Hi Everyone!
Well, here we are in September - this journey has taken the better part of a year, but I'm excited to say that after finishing another chapter today I have only two chapters yet to write and, by my estimation, should be at the 55,000 word mark. Very excited to finally finish this and be able to share this with you!
With that in mind, I wanted to give you an update on my publishing situation. As an author, you either self-publish, work with a publisher, or work with a company that provides you a hybrid approach. My first two books I self-published, my 3rd book I worked with a publisher (Wiley), and for my 4th book I am leaning towards working with a publisher for a variety of reasons. I have already begun negotiations with a few publishers and hope to make an announcement as to who my publisher is - or if I decide to self-publish - when my manuscript is hopefully completed and submitted at the end of this month.
Working with a publisher means that my book won't be published until the Spring of 2019. However, while slower than self-publishing, it also ensures the highest quality and widest distributed product, and thus I believe - if I end up working with the right publisher - that the pluses outweigh the minuses. Either way I will keep you informed, and if you are a publisher and haven't heard back from me, please feel free to message me for an update. Thank you.
On a completely different note, my first two books were about LinkedIn and I still work with many companies on their LinkedIn marketing as well as Social Selling, including the business school executive education program that I created for Rutgers University "Social Selling in a Digital World." I find that many corporate professionals, whether they be salespeople as part of a Social Selling program or general employees as part of an Employee Advocacy program, lack general understanding of LinkedIn and its potential.
Although I haven't updated my two LinkedIn books published in 2009 and 2011, I did publish a free ebook called Maximizing LinkedIn for Business back in 2015. Due to contractual commitment with a client, parallel to writing The Business of Influence I have worked on revising this free ebook and am happy to announce that I just completed it last week.
