Synopsis

The Me Project Wellness Guide is about world-renowned Life Coach, Hayley Nicole Wilson's journey to experiencing wellness.

This book is dedicated to people just like her Dad, those who have at no fault of their own forgotten to look after themselves.

She reveals to readers a unique definition of wellness based on sharing her own personal experiences of having an eating disorder during her teenage years, experiencing drugs during her 20's, her Father nearly dying from cigarette smoking, catching the herpes simplex virus, recently, getting post-natal depression and a series of other life-altering events that have both challenged and shaped her throughout her life.

Readers can utilize her personal stories to reflect deeply and honestly on the people they are today, if they are treating themselves well and how their actions can indirectly impact all the other key areas of their lives.

She provides hope and inspiration and the prospect of being a catalyst to others own decision-making, encouraging others to change themselves to become the best, most well versions of themselves. She reveals how she has successfully changed her own life continuously along her own personal journey to wellness.

Audience

My future readers are Millennials who are desperately seeking change in the most important areas of their life: relationships, health and success.

This primary target market are just embarking on their journey of self-awareness and discovery. They have reached a breaking point of sorts, in which desperation is starting to seep in to their consciousness.

They have become aware that they are in need of help in the areas of life which mean the most to them and they recognize that they need to do something, so they look to sources of inspired, trusted advice from a fellow Millennial who "gets it" and can likewise, help to get them real results, whilst maintaining their sense of independence:

Wednesday, August 2, 2017: Marketdata Enterprises, Inc.

The total U.S. self-improvement market was worth $9.9 billion last year—growing just 4.3% since 2011., hurt by weak performance in infomercials and commercial diet programs. We forecast better 5.6% average yearly gains from 2016 to 2022., when the market should be worth $13.2 billion.

Demographics… Traditionally, the Baby Boomers have been the main consumers of self-improvement. They still are an important group, but the tide is shifting. Millennials are the future for this market, but there are few experts now catering to them.

"Tomorrow’s gurus will need to deliver real results and be tech savvy."

August 1,  2017:  Marketdata Enterprises, Inc., a leading independent market research publisher  since 1979, has released the 10th edition of one of its best-selling studies, a 390-page report entitled: The U.S. Market For Self-Improvement Products & Services .  This is the ONLY publicly available study about this $9.9 billion business. The study traces the market from 2003-2022 Forecast, examining these markets: Infomercials, Holistic Institutes, Self-Help Books & Audiobooks, Motivational Speakers, Websites, Apps, Public Seminars, Personal Coaching, Weight Loss Programs and Training Organizations.

According to Research Director, John LaRosa: “This industry’s future generation of gurus, speakers and experts will need to be more accountable to self-improvement consumers. They want practical results and a return on their invested time and money. Many have found that programs and philosophies such as the “law of attraction” over-promised and under-delivered, and simply did not work for them.”

A popular book is still the basic starting point and platform for motivational speakers and gurus. Self-improvement books have been doing well in recent years, with a slew of new titles appearing in 2015 and 2016. This is now an $800 million market that’s growing 6% per year. There were no major blockbusters such as The Secret, but a good number of other popular titles were released and sold well.

Dear Author,

You worked hard to write your manuscript; finally, it's ready to release. You know that expert assistance is needed, but perhaps you didn’t realize that working with a publisher is no longer necessary—especially publishers who charge fees to produce your book upfront and "share" more of your revenue whenever a book is sold.

1106 Design is an author services company. We offer all the editorial and design services you’d expect from a publisher, transforming your manuscript into a market-ready book. But here's the difference: we help you secure print-on-demand printing and worldwide distribution in your name. This means you earn several dollars more for every book sold instead of a meager “royalty.”

We understand that your book is not just a passion project but also a potential source of income. That's why we offer a range of services tailored to your needs at affordable prices. Depending on your manuscript's word count and complexity, our packages range from $4,000 to $10,000. And here's the best part: after this one-time investment, every penny of net revenue from book sales goes directly to you, never to us.

If this sounds like a better way to publish your book, I invite you to browse our services, design samples, no-surprises pricing, outstanding customer reviews, and educational articles at https://1106design.com. You can download a free PDF of my book, "Publish Like the Pros: A Brief Guide to Quality Self-Publishing and an Insider's Look at a Misunderstood Industry," and request a free, no-obligation consultation.

Gladiator Publishing Company logo Gladiator Publishing Company

Gladiator Publishing Co. has held a reputation in the Literary Industry for nearly 100 Years as a Writer-Loyal company. Nearly 100-years later, Gladiator Publishing Company still maintains that strong characteristic. We place our Authors publications first and foremost. You may hear many other "Publishing entities" state that they are "the first" to do this or the "originator/pioneer" of that. If everyone is using the same marketing, promotional, and advertising pipelines what makes them so original?

As the proud recipients of six-awards in 2018 for our innovative marketing techniques, media outreach, extremely low budget compared to the Global Industry Standard (72-83% cheaper), and an Author-inclusive style, it is no wonder we are the #1 Requested Publishing Service on the East Coast. We are staffed with industry-specific professionals that are dedicated to market and brand development.

Full Editing Services (substantive, copy, formatting, proofreading, story flow, line) are INCLUDED in the price. No hidden fees, no extra cost for something that Publishing Services should be more than happy to provide to benefit the manuscripts success. The industry has turned toward greed and away from literature. It's sick and inappropriate, it's ok to agree, they know it too.

The

My Ideal Life

Your
Wellness Story

Wellness is, put simply, the condition of good physical and mental health.
Wellness is a healthy condition upheld by maintaining a good diet, regular
exercise and avoiding behaviours that compromise health.

Wellness isn’t a given. It is an active, ongoing process in which people choose
to look after themselves. Daily decisions are made in full awareness that they
are contributing toward a more successful existence.

We
all hold a great responsibility in honouring our health and controlling risky
behaviours such as smoking, and alcohol and drug abuse. Our lifestyles reflect
patterns of behaviour that ultimately determine the state of our health and whether
we experience wellness.

It’s
not about being in damage control once health problems arise. And it doesn’t
have to be about medical care. Traditionally, people turn to prescriptions to
solve their problems. A wiser approach is to consistently administer self-care.
This allows us to control our health as much as we can to minimise health
issues.

If you are open to begin taking personal responsibility for your wellbeing,
then let’s get you on track to experience wellness. All it takes is some
self-convincing and a consistent shift in your behaviours.

I haven’t always felt as well as I do today. I am not a wellness
guru who has meditated and lived on organic produce their entire life. Far from
it! That is what makes me the perfect candidate to demonstrate just how
significant wellness is and how it can completely change your life.

I
know how it feels to be at the bottom of the wellness scale. By the time I was
25, I had experienced:

-an eating disorder

-recreational drugs

-binge drinking

-chain smoking

-weak self-control and decision making.

Not only did the above risky behaviours involve breaking the law, they also
contributed to a gradual deterioration in things that were, in hindsight,
highly important to me in my lifetime.

Having an eating disorder was a learned behaviour. I observed girls at my
school who were becoming increasingly thin and noticed them throwing up their
food in the toilets. I was wonderfully curvy, under pressure to perform well in
my final year of school, had a nice-looking boyfriend and was a high achiever,
so it helped me to maintain some control.

Environmental factors included a mother who consistently complained about her
size and weight, and airbrushed, unrealistic and non-relatable media
images.

Bulimia is, in short, nothing less than disgusting, horrible and unbalanced behaviour
that began to control me. It felt like a mental illness with unfortunate
physical repercussions. I can still to this day vividly remember how the
regurgitated food would make such a mess of our toilet and how emotional the
experience of the burning in my throat was. The worst moment was when my
younger sister caught me in the act and how disappointing I was.

Looking back, I was a young woman with the world at my feet, blessed with good
health, intelligence, lots of love in her life.
How could that have possibly happened to me?

In
that state of imbalance, my body was being starved of vital nutrients. I
started to develop acne under my chin – no doubt a cry for help. I was binging
and purging food; binging large volumes of food and exhaustingly throwing it
up. I was depriving myself of a healthy relationship with my very own body and
with wonderful, life-preserving food.

Luckily, I do naturally have a strong determination and willpower. When I felt
truly exhausted and unwell because of my food in and out regime, I could force
myself to switch the bulimia off. What also helped was that I started a new
life at university and became highly distracted. Not every person who
experiences an eating disorder has such privileges.

This
is far from a ‘feel sorry for me’ tale. The message I am conveying here is that
wellness involves the mind showing respect for the body. As a young,
impressionable woman, it could be argued that I was easily influenced by
external factors. I lacked the life experience to know better, and the passing
of time has allowed me to become more mindful of how to treat my body.

Today,
over a decade later, I wouldn’t dream of damaging my good relationship with my
body. I respect my body so much, and I know on a very deep level how my body
rewards me in return. I am mindful of nourishing it with health-giving foods so
that it can think, produce, move and operate at its full potential.

When
I love myself and treat my body well, my life is better. I can enjoy running
long distances and take in the inspiring scenery, not worry about whether
clothing is flattering or not, I can wear what I like, and I am at peace with
myself and not trying to achieve some goal I have more love to give to others.
My time is spent living fully and I don’t obsess over a small part of it.

I make the decision every day to enjoy good food; it is a learned
behaviour which makes me feel happy. I also reward the good behaviour with dark
chocolate as it’s full of antioxidants!

What we consume directly impacts our wellness. Food is the best medicine there
is. Food heals us from the inside out, and to have a challenging relationship
with food is to be at odds with what is keeping us alive and thriving. To feel
well, we do not need to restrict and deprive ourselves through dieting. The word
‘diet’ should not even exist when we’re in a state of wellness.

The focus needs to be on the abundant wholefoods available to us.
Wholefoods are foods which have been minimally processed or refined and are
free from additives and artificial substances, and so put the best fuel into
our bodies so they function at their best. Deciding to consume wholefoods takes
a shift in mindset and behaviour, and includes ignoring the health-destroying
foods marketed to us on a daily basis.

Making excellent food choices is applying self-care. This care
results in a better life. In stark contrast to the secretive, harmful eating
disorder I experienced, maintaining a healthy weight, eating delicious
health-giving food and beverages, and knowing when I feel full and satisfied,
has helped me to succeed in other key areas of my life.

Being healthy has given me confidence in my body. Feeling
confident has allowed me to pursue my dreams without uncertainty or fear. My
confidence puts me in unfamiliar territory – knowing I can now inspire and
influence others and knowing that I will be shown respect because I respect
myself. I can experience the enjoyment and satisfaction of participating in a
running event and I am no longer the person who doubts their ability on the
sideline. When you care for yourself, you change your experience in the world.

Experimenting with recreational drugs is something I look back on with a sense
of shock and shame. Being a woman who has taken a stand on her wellness in her
early 30s, what happened to my mind and body because of that experimental phase
frightens me. At the time, it seemed like fun and an escape from the
picture-perfect life I found myself with at a young age. It was a fit for my
rebellious nature, when I refused to be defined, committed or tied down to
anything.

Recreational drugs are drugs which are used without medical justification for
their psychoactive effects, with a belief that occasional use is not addictive
or habit-forming. This phase started with an invitation to see an international
DJ while at university, and promptly ended after a series of ‘crazy’
experiences in my relationships. The irony is that in the search for something
exciting and different in life, the craziness destroyed the beauty and joy of
what is simple.

Taking drugs is not only illegal, it shows little respect for your
body and those important to you. If you are lucky enough to survive the
experience of taking them, the euphoric effects can make you feel on top of the
world. The catch is that the experience will always, somehow, rob you of what
is good. That is a huge catch.

I look at my baby girl today and thank my lucky stars that I was fortunate
enough to survive and still have my health intact. I am not going focus on the
perceived benefits of recreational drugs, as I believe that the disadvantages far
outweigh these. Drugs, without medical purpose are, in short, life-taking,
life-altering, expensive, escapist and ugly.

I look at photos of myself during that phase and my skin was pale,
I looked sick and I was partying. I therefore was not eating properly and my
weight plummeted due to the neglect. To make things worse I entered a toxic
relationship with someone who had issues with substance abuse, to the point of
addiction. This brief relationship was the human representation of a yo-yo,
full of dramatic highs and lows. This experience was out-of-control and
incredibly taxing on my emotional wellbeing.

Life is beautiful – and that phase was ugly. The potential
consequences are scary. The countless packets of cigarettes I smoked and
alcoholic drinks I consumed that just seemed to come with that territory. The
nights without sleep and the risk-taking, immoral behaviours it was so easy to engage
in embarrass me enormously My lack of conscious awareness of my actions has
caused me is heartbreaking.

When the drugs wore off, I was left feeling depressed, and the
term called ‘suicidal Tuesday’, following a weekend of partying, became a
shared term between friends. Such lows. The term ‘low life’ suits this phase
well. As a result of such actions, your standards drop and success is more out
of reach.

When I decided to detox, I was driving to my workplace and
experienced an anxiety attack while driving. I had briefly needed to take
prescription medication so I could function in a new job. I remember staring at
my computer screen and being unable to read a client email, as I spiralled into
panic.
