Either way, I'm fucking delighted with the progress I have made and with the quality of the 'post-edit' work. It really feels like it's coming together and feels a lot leaner and tauter than the first draft.
The editing process no longer feels like 'homework' given that I have a deadline to work towards.
I watched the premiere of a short film yesterday, which as well as being thoroughly enjoyable, was a great exercise in economy of dialogue and storytelling. No mean feat to pack a full story into half an hour, and proves the adage that less is more.
Anyhow, I'll keep you posted on the final weeks edit and any progress reports from my publisher.
