Update #6 - A Little Patience and a Lot of Gratitude Nov. 27, 2019

Well, HELLO! I hope you are getting ready for all that stuffing, potatoes and pies and have your comfy pants on hand as we head into the Thanksgiving holiday!

I know, I know, it’s been a while since my last update at the end of the summer. I wanted to send one earlier but felt it would be better if I actually had something to update you on, and to be honest it has taken until now to get a handle on what that update is!  So thank you for your patience….

If you recall, my last update let you know I had submitted the requested revised proposal to Publishizer at the end of August so they could start sending it out to traditional publishers.  After not hearing for them for over a month, I finally got a response and was assured they were doing all to get it into editors hands, but that the Head of Publishing, who was handling it, was leaving the company.

This was very disappointing since I had enjoyed working with her and thought she was great and a fan and advocate of my work.  There was some confusion and changes as to her exact departure, so I never got the detailed scoop of what happened to my proposal, and the temporary Head of Publishing has yet to reach out, and no one else in the company had that info. Most of October was also them dealing with the Frankfurt book fair, which also put getting back to me a low priority.  Needless to say, I was frustrated. But this is a start-up, so you have to roll with it a bit.

Fortunately, the person I was working with is now a consultant and I was finally able to get in touch with her to get some guidance and direction.  At this point there has been no interest from traditional publishers, which isn’t to say there won’t be in the future. But I have to accept the fact I need to look at other publishing options as well, which would be either a hybrid/co-publishing arrangement or self-publishing.  Each of these options has their advantages and disadvantages so I will be exploring them all over the next few months.  You WILL get your book one way or another! :)

Right now, though, the most import thing for me to do is to finish the manuscript, which will also help get me a deal.  Honestly, I was waiting for feedback on my proposal to work on it. But, as usual, these things work out as they should, since from the end of the summer until now I have been going through some very intense personal transformation as a result of a lot of physical, mental and emotional detoxing, and there was really no way I would have been able to work on it in earnest anyway.  As is the theme of this very book, I needed to LISTEN TO MYSELF, which, because I did, I now feel like I have a newfound clarity, and a deeper understanding and connection to myself and what I have to offer that will only make The Smoothie Principle that much richer and even more helpful to my readers.

SO, that’s the scoop for now. Again, I very much appreciate your patience, and also your eagerness to read The Smoothie Principle, as I have heard from a few of you who are anxiously awaiting it. It is wonderful to have that additional motivation <3

This whole publishing thing is indeed a journey. I am so glad we are on it together, and I could not think of a more appropriate time to express my gratitude to each and every one of you and your support – it means more than you know!

I will certainly keep you posted as things progress, but please feel free to reach out should you have any questions at all.  In the meantime, don't forget that if any of you have purchased 5 copies or above be sure to contact me for your coaching session or workshop bonus whenever you're ready.

Wishing you and your family a beautiful, bountiful Thanksgiving and a restful weekend,

Kristina
