Kent Oliver

Kent Oliver

Redondo Beach, California

Kent Oliver enjoys writing silly, and occasionally dark, poetry. Kent’s interest in writing poetry began when he had to memorize a poem in the 5th grade. He chose "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe. He then moved on to "The Charge of the Light Brigade" by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, and "Paul Revere's Ride" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. If only he could grow facial hair like any of them, he would call his life complete.

About the author

Kent Oliver grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and currently lives in Redondo Beach, California. He likes to write silly, and occasionally dark, poetry. It probably started when he had to memorize a poem in the 5th grade.

He has been writing poetry since he was young, most of it is very bad, especially those written during his teen years (unless, of course, you enjoy an adolescent boy rhyming about his pining for boobs).

His best friend is a great rescue dog named Ginger. You can follow him on twitter @TheUniverseDGAS.
The illustrations are done by the amazing Ariela Coco. Ariela is an Italian illustrator and comic artist. She earned  an  illustration degree in 2010. Currently, she splits her time between Roma and Bari, Italy. She loves drawing, creating stories, and eating pizza.

Her artistic style works very well for this type of book. You can view more of her work on

Instagram @ariela_coco.

Kent are Ariela collaborated on another book entitled "The Universe Doesn't Give a Shit about You!" It can be found at tudgasay.com
