We are wrapping up the final chapter of Unlocking Flow! I can't wait to share this book with you all. Thank you for your support and encouragement along the way.
As father day weekend comes and goes, I am reminded of how fortunate I am to have relationships with my grandfather, father, and other relatives that I, in my darkest times, had little to no relationship with them. I have been rebuilding my relationship with my dad for many years. It has been a MASSIVE healing experience along the path of mending these fractured relationships. I have also noticed that my relationship with my kids has improved in relation to how my relationship with my parents are improving.
To anyone struggling to make amends with your own father or your kids, or any family member for that matter, I strongly INVITE you to imagine the possibility off letting go and forgiving them and forgiving yourself for whatever happened as much as you can, and take a baby step in a positive direction. Send a note, make a call, have the uncomfortable moment (s) and move past it to freedom. Sometimes, the only way to get to the other side is straight through. Move through the resistance, fear, ego, etc to allow for a new beginning and open space.
Lastly, the more I have avoided relationships, the bigger my problems grew. It reminds me of the saying, “what you resist, persists”. I have learned the hard way that Approach based coping is the way. Approaching relationships with family, friends, and important people in your life to build your relationships deeper and stronger. Run towards the gunfire.
