Some people feel like they are on the wrong track, like a train heading in the wrong direction - they are asleep to their powerful ability to consciously create the life they desire.
Being asleep refers to the patterns in our lives that keep repeating. We keep meeting the same type of mates, keep repeating the same old habits, and yet we expect different results. We see the same trends repeating in our business and personal lives and still, we are “asleep’ to this fact. It takes a “force of will” to wake up and see that we need to develop new behaviors to break the pattern of the nightmare in our lives.
Waking up is “glimpsing our soul”. Deepak Chopra, in his book “Power, Freedom, and Grace”, says “Every day we normally experience three states of consciousness: waking, dreaming and sleeping.”
He goes on to say, “just as we have to wake up from the dream state to experience consciousness, we have to wake up from what we call waking consciousness to glimpse our spirit, our inner self.
This is called “glimpsing the soul”, waking up to the fact that we live in a miracle, that we are a miracle and that all of life is Divine, and a miracle.

For aspiring CEO's, Leaders, entrepreneurs, coaches and trainers
"When I was asked to contribute to Steve’s new book, I was both honored and excited. I have spent the last 20 years in medical sales and have been through numerous sales and coaching seminars."
Without question, my experiences working with Steve Lentini have been the most impactful on both a personal and professional level. The ability for Steve’s wisdom to reach the masses is a tremendous opportunity for those that wish to sharpen their selling skills.
I first came to know Steve through my wife who has spent many years working with him as her sales coach and mentor. After seeing her immeasurable professional success as a sales rep and sales leader, I decided to enlist Steve’s help for my own sales organization. I invited Steve to speak at our national sales meeting to the team of experienced medical device sales representatives. After having been through countless presentations, with mixed results, we were struck by his simple yet powerful message…” be in the moment”. Two years later, I still have members of my team talk about how “being in the moment” during their sales calls has allowed them to have a more consultative sales approach. Steve had a unique way of delivering the message that few have the ability to pull off. He was able to have the team “feel” what they needed to do and not just hear it and forget it by the end of the week. That, to me, is the sign of someone that is a true coach.

When I met Steve, I was 29 years young and I had been selling software to pharmaceutical customers for almost 6 years. Early on, I had been very successful in my career and I had mentors that helped me learn the ‘basics’ of selling.
However, in the two years, before I met Steve, I had switched companies two times and I was probably 6 months away from leaving sales altogether. I was struggling with my own identity as a salesperson and everything was an effort. I was having trouble with my interactions with colleagues and management.
In my very first discussion with Steve (now almost 11 years ago), Steve taught me that If you move towards the ‘uncomfortable” , things will change, you will change. He said that you should not expect a different result if you continue doing things the same way you always have. I am glad I listened.
Are you ready to get uncomfortable?
In a recent conversation with Steve, he reminded me that the idea of being comfortable in your life/career has changed dramatically in the past 20 years. In order to be successful, we must live in the world of being “uncomfortable”, we must not fear to say how we feel, we should not fear change.
To do this effectively, I had to learn how to say what I feel, and I have to get uncomfortable.
Ultimately, though, Steve has changed me, not just the salesperson or sales manager. He has changed the person I am.
My thoughts and words have power
I realized that I was blaming others for my current situation. I blamed the company’s management for not being customer-centric and I made wild accusations about their motivations. I had completely taken on the victim role and hadn’t recognized how I had created my situation and how I needed to change. Everything I thought had power, my words had power, and I was not powerless. I am now well-trained to not judge anything by the way it looks in the moment, I judge things by my intention for the outcome. It would be silly for a farmer to scream at the seed in the ground upon planting it and expect an instant tomato. There is a process that happens in life, and we cannot always control exactly what it looks like.
What we CAN control is how we THINK about the process and I promise you that reading Steve’s book will help you with that, more than you can imagine…enjoy.
