Good morning. I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season, full of joy and love.
As the new year approaches, I wanted to share some highlights from 2023. It was an exciting year as we worked on getting We Can Save the Earth published.
I started the year not quite sure how I was going to move the book forward. I was proud of the book but felt a bit stuck. I work full time as a geriatric psychologist and putting the time into getting the book published and marketed was daunting. Then, I had dinner with my friend, Joe Charley, a talented musician and actor and things fell into place. (https://voyageminnesota.com/in...)
Joe told me he had begun working with Mint Mantis, a marketing and promotion team in Canada. He offered to introduce us. As soon as I met Ari, I knew I had a real partner, someone who cared about the book, about creating a better world, and about finding ways to make a real impact. His enthusiasm increased my own enthusiasm and commitment to getting the book published and into the world.
At our second meeting, Ari and Yana, Mint Mantis' creative director, came up with the idea of adding QR codes to the book. Suddenly, it was not another static book on sustainable living that became outdated as soon as the tips were implemented. Instead, it was transformed into the first sustainable book on sustainable living, a book that would link to ever-changing, ever-evolving information, products, news.
Soon after, the Mint Mantis team introduced us to Publishizer, where we are selling pre-orders of the book and seeking the right publisher. After joining Publishizer, we took a look at the title, which was You Can Save the World...in Fact You're the Only One Who Can, and decided the message was wrong. The book is full of fun, simple, engaging tips and the title made it sound isolating, heavy, and not very fun.
We brainstormed with Mint Mantis, sending ideas back and forth. Ultimately, Ari suggested We Can Save the World...Mars Can Wait. It fits the book, it fits our message, it is engaging and fun.
So, here we are at the end of 2023. I have an end-of-year television interview coming up to talk about the book. Then, in 2024, we will finish the Publishizer campaign with a February challenge, followed by publishing and distribution.
We are excited to have you with us as we move into the new year.
Happy New Year. I hope it is a year filled with joy and peace, love and kindness, and that together we find a way to create a sustainable, just, equitable future.
In Appreciation,
Lori
