About the author

Amanda Couvell is a stay at home mom by day, and an author illustrator by night. She began drawing as a way to relax and unwind after a long day of chasing toddlers, and after years of trial and error she found a way to put her skills to use as an illustrator. She has always had a love of books, which only grew when she had little ones to read to!
Her two daughters, Rielyn and Reese, inspired her work. After searching for learning material that showcased strong female leaders and coming up short, Amanda decided she needed to take matters into her own hands. Thus creating Wonderful Women!

Synopsis

Wonderful Women is a children’s activity book that works it’s way through the alphabet with beautiful illustrations of women in power. Color in AOC, Hillary Clinton, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Then trace your way to Capitol Hill, help Kamala Harris navigate the maze to the White House, and create a healthy school lunch with Michelle Obama. Finish off by testing your counting skills in a fun game of I Spy.

This means, should an author pass our editors’ strict filtering system, we can offer different kinds of agreements depending on the author and the manuscript. With some authors, we work under a ‘traditional’ model, whereby we cover the full cost of publication and the author is offered industry-standard royalties (8-10%). To some authors, we offer what we call a partnership or contributory agreement, whereby the author is asked for a financial contribution so that we may share the risk and enter into a partnership together to publish the author’s book.
