Mike Will Downey is a writer and entrepreneur in California. He loves stories that promote kindness, compassion, love, caring, giving, heart, and soul. In his early years, Downey won the Minnie Hite Moodie Writers Award & was a journalist in Ohio. He has helped many charities with youth programs and completed a mission with Save Our Youth in Mexico. In 2007, he sold his Colorado-based sports high-tech social application PlayCoed.com to 212 Media. In 20 years Downey has published over 3,000 songs, started four businesses, written 7 screenplays, & worked with various Denver Nuggets, Colorado Rockies, and Denver Broncos players.

For centuries sacred texts have mystified and confused people who have read them. Demonstrated in the world today, people have taken ancient texts out of proportion and inflicted harm on others. They perceived the words they read as fear driven. Only a few people have realized that words are art, and often are riddles. Once you solve the riddle you uncover the mystery and unlock your true potential as a human, which is inside you. As people band together in support of the victims of horrific attacks, heart and compassion is unveiled.
Is War the answer to these crimes? I don't think so. We should look beyond what the media feeds us when there are attacks and focus on a solution. Suicide bombers, shooters, and terrorists are sick, mentally ill people. Fear focuses on the problem and love focuses on the solution. In war, no one wins. When we "fight" something we are feeding the problem. When we focus on the treatment, we approach it from a place of love.
We need to have compassion for those who think their lives don't matter. It's a mental disorder and disease. We must inspire positive change with the youth of today, and leaders of tomorrow. When I was young I did everything I could not to be rejected. The cause was being bullied at a young age. The effect was I lost my true essence. We need to let young men and women know they are accepted and approved, without having to harm others, or hold power and riches over others.
In the story of 'A Golden Heart', Esiw Miju believed people were crazy in the world and couldn't be trusted. She left civilization for the woods.
