Synopsis

This book is about showing people that ADD is not the disorder and disadvantage that it is made out to be. It is about knowing and managing yourself to benefit from your self-knowledge.

The benefit is derived from knowing your Why? This can explained as your driving force to do things. But how can you know what drives you if you don't explore your options in life? Do you allow others to dictate who you are and what you can do?

This is where people with ADD gets their first advantage in that they don't allow people to dictate who they must be. They are willing to explore all options and choose what is the best for them.

The next Advantage that people with ADD have are that they can then go into a state of superfocus once the know what their why is and if they align their venture with that. Most people can actually do it, it is just easier for people with ADD to reach that laserfocus and to stay in that state of mind.

People with ADD also tend to think in a non-linear fashion when it comes to problem solving. When 'regular' people then see our way of thinking they claim that we "over complicate" things. So they attach negative labels to us. The key however is that sometimes non-linear solutions is what is required to solve problems. But people need to harness this ability in the best way possible.

However it is not just a book about ADD it is also about any alleged obstacles that people might think they have and how to use it to their advantage. At the end of the day it is as I have read on

These two quotes summarises so well what I wish to achieve with this book.

Now a lot of people of people go around saying '"I can't" or even "You can't" and then we tend to believe them. The reason for this is because it is usually our closest family and friends that say it and then they say they "Just want to protect us."

This is the system that I want to influence for the positive.

Now it is important to note that as you will see below at the 'About the Author' section I were myself diagnosed with ADD at age Six , I then had a teacher in third grade that called me dumb and that I won't amount to anything.

I went and got my LLB degree and finish my internship at the same time! Then with minimal experience and resources I started my own Law Firm, it has since been growing at an average of 100% per year.

Then I said that I want to do what many people said is the second most difficult Ironman 70.3 and I wanted to do it in less than six and a half hours. I was told that I must just try to finish it in the cutoff time.

I then ended up doing it in six hours nineteen minutes.

Then earlier this year I acquired a second business that I help to manage and I did it without spending a single penny of my own money. I am now in the process of staring my third business.

And all it took was knowing my Why and maintaining Laserfocus on what I want to achieve.

We are all ADD to a certain extent; some of us are just labeled.

Outline

The book will consist of having an Introduction which will set out the idea that ADD is an Advantage in that it will show how you can look at it in a way that it is not a disorder but a way to get to know yourself and that you must embrace it for what it can give you. This probably be spread over at least three chapters.

The next portion of the book will consist of at least five examples of famous people that embraced their so called "disorder" and how they used it to get an Advantage in their day to day life and way of doing business. This will therefore be at least five chapters. I intend to write shortened versions success stories of at least five people that used their challenges and "disorders" to differentiate themselves and make a success of their lives.

Then the book will proceed to show how a person can implement the very same ways that was set out in the above examples in your own life and that you don't need to accept the label that was placed on you. It will also show how you should go about it. This will take about two chapters.

The conclusion will then follow that you are great just as you are and that you must just learn to use what you have to discover your purpose in life. This will be about one chapter.

Audience

The primary focus and market of this book is people that claim that they can't do this or that. It is for people that want to make excuses and claim that a medical or other condition prevents them from making a success of what they want to do.

This then book then intended to show that it doesn't matter what your perceived disability or disorder is, it only matters that you know yourself and your purpose flowing from it to be able to prove people wrong.

It therefore doesn't matter who your naysayers are, be that close family or even friends. A lot of the time they do not intend to be negative, they think that they just want to protect you, but in the protecting they are not supportive of you and what you want to achieve.

This book therefore is highly motivational for the people that need support the most, but that the people around them can't see.

Promotion

I am in the process of building my platform out in a big way with the sole purpose of promoting my book.

I were able to build my twitter platform out from almost nobody to more than 500 followers. Quite a lot of them are book promoters with extensive lists.

I am also om Linkedin where I am connected with a lot of CEO's and marketers that will be able to assist me in promoting my book. I am however not going to list them at this point in time.

I am also on Facebook, but I am not intending to use it in promoting my book as I do not believe it is the correct platform to promote this type of book on.

Competition

There is a whole slew of books in the market that attempt to explain Attention Deficit Disorder in Medical Terms and how to 'Cope' or 'Treat' it. Anybody can do a search to find these books.

This is however not what this book is about at all. This book focuses on the Advantage that ADD can be if you embrace it. It attempts to do so through the profiles of highly successful people.

With this in mind I were able to find two books that can to a greater or lesser extent complement my book.

The first book is
Delivered from Distraction: Getting the Most out of Life with Attention Deficit Disorder (2005).
It has a small portion of profiles with people who 'triumphed' over ADD. Even in this way it makes it sound as if ADD is an adversary that needs to be defeated. What it does say that I agree with though is that ADD only becomes a disorder when it impairs your life.

My book differs from it in two material aspects namely that it is written with an inside view of living with ADD and making it your strength. It is not something that needs to be beaten into submission, but something that can and must be embraced in order for you to live life to the full and to get the Success you deserve.

The second book is
With Time to Spare: The Ultimate Guide to Peak Performance for Entrepreneurs, Adults with ADHD and other Creative Geniuses (2011).
This Book takes a different approach that I believe is much better, it show you can learn to successfully manage it. It claims to also instantly provide you with a healthier way to look at your own ADHD.

This book indicates that it can help you dispel many misguided beliefs with excellent examples to draw from and will empower you to find your unique brain wiring's strengths so you can maximize your efforts for a more productive, fulfilling life with your, or a loved one's ADHD.

My book differs in that it focuses more on Business Success and how you can emulate this by looking at the lives of people that has gone before you. This book focuses on life in general.

 I therefore believe that this book can be very complementary to my own.
