Lana Baumgartner completed her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies at California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco, California; the very first University to pilot a certificate program for Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies, also known for it’s holistic approach to formal education: bringing concepts of spirituality, consciousness, and personal growth in balance with professional development, critical thinking and academic rigor. Lana’s upbringing was shaped by the divergent thinkers of her immediate family. An activist grandfather who Founded the American Cannabis Society. A modern day witch as a mother, who practiced Herbalism, and brought young Lana to seminars exposing the corrupt American Medical system, touting “no disease is incurable.” A 100% disabled Marine Viet Nam Veteran uncle and mentor, practicing Eastern spirituality and meditation for over 40 years, and maintaining unheard levels of health and wellness into his mid-seventies. Lana’s father is a four-time convicted felon, who drastically changed the course of his life through spiritual practices, and plant medicines after being incarcerated and absent for most of Lana’s youth. She followed the family trend and defied all odds, and set a standard for herself, to cultivate a daily practice of optimal health and holistic living, and travel the globe in effort to develop an altruistic worldview. She’s traveled to six continents, and spent a cumulative of seven years outside of the U.S. She is a trained dance instructor, yoga instructor, Reiki Practitioner, massage therapist, Kambo practitioner, certified Life and Recovery Coach, and has studied Tantra for the past eight years.
Writing has always been a passion of Lana’s. From early elementary school extracurriculars, to the high school newspaper and onto her own personal blog, “The Sensual Foodist;” where she writes about the role of nourishing food in the bedroom, and between lovers. This concept gained interest from individuals seeking support in intimate relationships, which developed into a co-authored book: Conscious Love: Enlightened Relationships and Soulful Sex 11 Love Experts Reveal Their Secrets, published in 2016. Fifteen countries have legalized prostitution; many in effort to increase the safety of sex workers. Prostitution is one of the oldest professions known to humans, and it’s likely not going anywhere. The innate drive for sex and sexual pleasure is an integral piece of the divine order of all creation. Humans with a healthy libido and high sex drive naturally desire sex, which cannot be shamed, as it’s intrinsically inherent. Consensual, intentional sex is not a crime!
Humans often crave sexual pleasure as a means of connection. Men often frequent gentleman’s clubs, or seek erotic services in effort to fill a void within themselves or the life they've created. After reading this manuscript, one man boldly noted that “every man should visit a brothel.” I wholeheartedly believe that if he were introduced to an ancient goddess temple, this is the "brothel," that he'd be referring to. He paused and looked at me before continuing to confess. “I’ve actually never had sex. I’m really a virgin.” I never take anyone seriously-at least not at first when I hear this word in the club. “You’re not a virgin!” I gave him a playful glance and put my face in my hand while I laughed. His facial expression had not changed. I stopped laughing and thought to myself, now here’s an opportunity. I love these scenarios. The guy who comes into the strip club, totally inexperienced and expects to get his training from a stripper. He had no clue what he was in for.
I felt him out and realized that he needed me to take it slow as I began questioning him. “Are you in a relationship? Do you have a girlfriend? Have you ever had a blowjob? Hand job? Are you gay?” I gave him this long list of questions-which of course, was eating into our half hour rapidly and I knew I had him for another session as soon as he had confessed. He told me that he gets so close. He’s with a woman, they’re intimate, they make it to the bedroom, and he shuts down. He gets stuck in his head. He wonders if he’s going to do it right, if she’s going to like it, if he’s going to cum too soon. He’s divulging everything to me within 20 minutes of our 30 minute VIP session. I’m so intrigued. How can I blow his mind?
I can feel his heart pounding, and I tell him to close his eyes. He’s apprehensive and can only keep them closed for a moment before opening them and looking at me suspiciously. After about four long, slow minutes, I pull back as he opens his eyes and locks his gaze on me. I exclaim, “You’ve passed Tantra 101. You can breathe!” He’s dumbfounded. Nothing sexual happened (to his knowledge) but he’s feeling completely connected and has fallen under my spell. I ask him again, “so why haven’t you had sex?” He recites the long list of fears to me again and I offer my solution, “have you ever heard of a Tantrika?”
We continue on and I educate him on the potential of working with a woman who can offer sexual healing. I promise to email him a contact for a woman in Toronto who can work with him to overcome his performance anxiety in bed. For the last five minutes of our time together, I finally remove my bra, slowly, while I sit on his lap facing away from him. I let my hands slide down his thighs, and use pressure as I move my hands down his shins and squeeze his ankles as I straighten my legs to bend over completely in front of him. I come up with a hair flip, and arms over my bare breasts. I know our lap dance is going to be short, so I turn up the volume quick-so he stays for another half hour. I’m straddling him again, and this time I let my lips brush against his ear while I rock my hips back and forth against him. Just before he feels the urge to lift his hands to touch me, I slide away and reveal my chest and showcase what’s left of my scantily clad attire-just in time for the bouncer to appear. He leans in and startles my client, “your time is just about up. Would you like to stay longer with Vida?”
I answer for him, and giggle, “yes of course. He’s going to stay forever!” He responds with yes, and I clarify, “we’ll do another half hour.” He reaches into his pocket and hands me another $200 before we begin level two of the sexual healing.
My morale won’t let me bid him farewell until he speaks the magic words, “I never expected this to happen, here.” Another potential client for years to come.
