Synopsis

Lucifer hides herself away in the back corner of hell, playing blues in a bar, trying to forget everything she gave up to stop God's plans. Her prison becomes more dangerous when Michael issues a bounty for her soul.  

After agreeing to find the devil and use the bounty to run away with Arnie, the bar's owner, she returns home. Lurking within, she finds Bernard, her partner and lover. They formulate a plan to escape before those looking for Lucifer close in around them. 

Their first step is going back  to the bar to retrieve the hidden hilt of Lucifer's sword. Arnie finds them, and to prevent discord, Lucifer convinces Bernard to let him tag along on their journey.  Shortly after they leave the bar, Arnie finishes his morph from regular human soul to demon. Protestations are cut short when the party meets another demon along the way.  Bernard dispatches the hindrance. 

Stashing Lucifer and Arnie in a motel, Bernard goes in search of information and resources only to be betrayed by Arnie. Lucifer rescues him after retrieving her sword.  Their path is detoured by Bernard's desire for vengeance. 

Bernard kills Arnie, content with his victory until Lucifer catches a glimpse of one of the creatures they were working to stop. The two run and hide, hoping it didn't notice them amidst the demons. The next morning, they continue on their way only for Lucifer to be captured.

She is held captive my the archangel Michael who, in true super villain fashion tells her their plan to force human souls to change to demons faster. Bernard rescues her and they continue on their way. They don't make it far before Lucifer decides she can't leave without foiling the plan.

Tracking the artifact Michael is using down, Lucifer lunges headlong into danger almost losing Bernard in the process. The corruption his soul took on it affected making him angry. Lucifer gets by him and uses her own energies to destroy the artifact.

With nothing else to stop them, the duo make for the portal that leads to Earth. Michael is waiting for them with a host of demons. Lucifer fights Michael and wins her freedom.

Outline

* Start in bar, Lucifer talking to Arnie. They're interrupted by the news of a bounty on Lucifer's head. She attempts to explain who she is while Arnie laughs at her denying the truth.
* Lucifer returns home. Finds Bernard there. They fight; "Why have you been gone so long?" Then make up and go to bed.
* Lucifer and Bernard talk. She uses her abilities instead of hiding behind the mundane facade she built up. 
* Lucifer and Bernard return to the bar.  Confrontation with Arnie. Lucifer retrieves piece of sword she left in microphone. All three leave together.
* Arnie questions what's going on, turning into a demon as they travel. Face off between Arnie and Bernard. They're attacked by a reaper. Lucifer uses Bernard's sword to dispatch it, catching grief from Bernard.
* Bernard leaves Lucifer and Arnie in a motel room while he scouts for resources. Lucifer realizes that Arnie betrayed Bernard. She leaves. 
* Lucifer retrieves her sword from her hiding place.
* Lucifer sneaks into the building, through the sewer, where Bernard is being held. She rescues Bernard from the demons holding him.
* The two head toward the roof looking for a means of escape. 
* They jump across the gap to a nearby building. Rushing through the building they reach the bottom, Bernard eager to begin his search for Arnie and retribution even if it means putting Lucifer in danger. 
* They return to the bar. Arnie isn't there. They drink and have sex before leaving. 
* Going back to the motel, they find a note from a high-ranking demon, Belerious. Together they decide to rush headlong into a trap.
* Lucifer and Bernard come upon Arnie and his cohorts. The demon promises Arnie Lucifer if he cooperates with the demonic plans. 
* Bernard and Arnie fight. Arnie dies. 
* Belerious rushes toward them, knocking Bernard aside. Lucifer attacks the demon, defeating him. She notices a change as something larger comes toward them.
* Running, Lucifer identifies the creature as the thing that Arthur made a deal with before sending her and Bernard to hell. They hide in an empty house. 
* They spend the night in the house. Lucifer is jumpy, not responding well to anything going on around them. 
* Leaving the house, Lucifer's unease remains. She loses Bernard. Demons capture her.
* Michael holds Lucifer, promising to let her go if she agrees to let plans go forward instead of interfering while telling her about the changes to those plans. Bernard comes to rescue her.
* They run. Lucifer questions running when the demons around them are growing more powerful. She decides to find the artifact and destroy it. 
* They find the artifact. It begins to affect Bernard. Lucifer incapacitates him.
* Lucifer destroys the artifact using her own energies, hurting herself in the process. Bernard gets her out of the building. They begin running. 
* They keep moving, using more caution that their previous attempts at escape. 
* They decide to hide in Bernard's house.
* Fight with Michael. Go through portal. Find themselves on Earth, meeting two friends willing to help them. 

Audience

Primary readership for
Escape from Hell would be women in the new adult age group. They are more likely to read novels with female protagonists, romantic inclinations, and fiction in general. 

Promotion

My main platform is Facebook. While I do have a Twitter account and a blog, I am not as active on them as I could be. My marketing plan includes a dedicated campaign on Facebook, asking my friends to both purchase and share the link to my book. I will also post links in the alumni group from my high school. 

I plan to increase my presence on Twitter and post in my blog more actively to build a following through those platforms while marketing my book.
