Stacey Welsh wrote her first story in her sleep, well, actually she dreamed it up in one night and then was so compelled to get the story out that she went and blew $500 bucks on a netbook so she could get her first novel “Scarlett Blade: The Bandit Queen” out to the world.
Though her first book hasn’t reached the acclaim that many famous authors have achieved, Stacey continued on. Publishing three more e-books before she started u a free science fiction, fantasy and horror magazine called “Far Horizons.” It started in April 2014 and has been going on strong since. The aim of Far Horizons is to provide a launching place for new authors and artists, to showcase their work and get them a little bit of experience in the publishing industry. Alongside the monthly e-magazine, Far Horizons also produces several anthologies.
In sci fi author Stacey Welsh's first book “The Angels of Abaddon” of her new series “Future's Fight”, it's clear the future is not very bright at all. In fact, it is quite the dystopian science fiction horror. The future of this science fiction genre series is a post-apocalyptic world that is split between the wealthy and privileged who live in relative safety and comfort in the upper levels of an underground city, while the poor and unconnected are forced to try to survive in the crime invested underbelly.
“I'm beyond passionate about 'Future's Fight' and have put a huge amount of thought and work into developing the world it takes place in,” commented Welsh about her new series. “Our hopes are to see the books bring in a large amount of engaged fans so we can not only enjoy seeing the story develop together, but one day even see it brought to the screen. 'Future's Fight' is very visual fast-paced adventure that could come to life on many different platforms.”

Question: Where did the idea for Future's Fight come from?
Answer: I, Scott M. Britner, created the idea for the book series and pitched the idea to Stacy Welsh who wrote Episode 1. I am coordinating the creation of the book assets including covers, character illustrations, audio book version, etc. (with feedback from Stacey).

Question: What are the funds for this proposal to be used for?
Answer: Your investment will be used specifically for the marketing and expansion of Future's Fight - Episode 1: The Angels of Abaddon.
1.) Expansion
Printed Book: the story will be expanded into a Printed Book (paperback and hardback) for those who still enjoy the feel of a physical book in their hand.
Audio Book: the story will be expanded into an Audio Book for those who have a long commute to work or simply prefer to hear the story rather than reading it.
This expansion is all about increasing the user experience - giving people the option to consume the story the way they desire.
2.) Marketing
I am convinced there is a large audience of people around the world who will love and appreciate this dystopian sci-fi story and its characters.
While the traditional audience for this type of story are women 18-35, I do believe this story will resonate a broader audience due to the various sub-storylines - such as government control, social segregation (the 1% versus the rest of society), populace control by propoganda, and certainly the rise of a resistance group and their fight for the rights of the people.
Additional marketing is not about selling more books... it's about reaching more fans... and getting them engaged in the experience. I don't want books sitting on shelves... I want fans who care about Sophie, Elizabeth and the other characters. I want fans who engage in friendly discussions about whether the resistance group are 'terrorists' or future Robin Hoods. I want fans who care about what's going to happen next and even offer their own suggestions about what future Episodes should include.
I will not let you down. I will try to provide you more value than you invest in us. And I will do everything in my power to ensure your investment is used to the best of its ability to create the best audience experience.
Question : So why did I create the science fiction series "Future's Fight"?
Answer : I grew up with science fiction (books, TV and movies). I've seen it both entertain and inspire. I've seen the science fiction of yesterday turn into the science fact of today. There's something special about science fiction. And I wanted to start this journey with something special. :)
I believe there's something 'special' about this story and these characters. I'm curious to see which characters become your favorite. [a little secret... Sophie is my favorite...]
Question: Why do I refer to myself as the Producer?
Answer: This is not about having a fancy title. It is about my desire to give credit where credit is due. I had the idea for this story but I did not write the words that brought the characters to life. That was Stacey. She is an amazing author. So if I wasn't the 'author', I tried to describe my role... and "idea creator and production coordinator" was a lot of words. So I boiled my role down to one word - Producer.
Question: Why do you call the book an "Episode"?
Answer: I really enjoy episodic content... TV shows, multi-part Movies, etc. They provide the same high quality stories and interesting characters... with a little something 'extra'. Each episode tells a story but leaves a few questions... creates anticipation for what's going to happen next.
This isn't about 'marketing'... it's about 'entertainment'. It's about creating a better experience for the reader.
Question: What are your plans for this Series?
Answer: I envision 3 Episodes per Season. There will be major cliff hanger event that happens at the end of the Season... that will set the major backdrop for the next Season. Currently, I have enough storyline for 3 Seasons (9 Episodes).
Finally, I see this story 'visually'. Although it is now just a book, I see it in living color (TV Show, a series of episodic short films or a Season merged into a full-length Movie). So the end goal is to see this story and these characters come alive on the screen.
PROLOGUE:
A few years from now, it will all be over…
Mankind's abuse of the planet reached a critical point. The earth could not sustain the number of humans that lived on its surface. Decades of famine, disease and war brought the human species to the brink of extinction.
It was decided that in order to preserve the human race, underground cities were to be built. Self-sufficient, and made for survival, many of the rich and powerful were able to gain access to their 'guest lists', securing a place for themselves, their families and their future generations.
The underclasses were not so lucky. It was the luck of the draw if you got in. Those who had little savings or a specific skill set that would be essential to the running of the underground cities were given preferential treatment by the overseers of the survival project, ensuring that they, and their own families were able to survive the decimation of man.
Now, two hundred years after the abandonment of the surface, one city is discovering that social segregation and populace control by propaganda can have a very negative effect…

CHARATER BIO: SOPHIE
Name: Sophie Reeves
Age: 26
Occupation: Labourer in Lower Section (known as Abaddon)
Alliance: Angels of Abaddon
Sophie Reeves was born in the lower sections of the sealed city known as Paradise. She grew up on the 'mean streets' of Abaddon, which is what the people of the lower sections call their 'home'. Sophie and her Sister, Elizabeth both worked hard to survive, often having to scrounge for food or even offer their bodies in exchange for shelter or a meal, as many other young women had to do in order to survive.

Sophie is 5'8, has blonde hair cut in a pixie style. She has blue eyes and a small scar on her upper cheek. Her clothing is often dirty and somewhat ragged due to the poverty that she has endured.
CHARACTER BIO: CHARLES
Name: Charles Rushmore
Age: 29
Occupation: Vice President of Upper Section (known as Paradise)
Alliance: Paradise
Charles Rushmore is the Vice President of Paradise City, and is currently being groomed by his father and advisors to take the role of President when his father retires or passes away. He comes from a long, proud line of presidents who are dedicated to the smooth running and survival of Paradise City.
He fell in love at first sight with his wife of two years, Elizabeth, who survived a terrorist bombing in the Lower Sections. Public opinion of this young up-and-coming leader is excellent, for his bringing a beautiful young woman from the poorer sections of the city and raising her up to a higher society, in which she has flourished.
Vice President Rushmore is 6'3, with black hair and blue eyes. He is the spitting image of his father, but a much younger version. He maintains a well-kept appearance, like his father.

There are several things I prefer not to release to the general public... I want to reserve them for our fan community... things like: character biographies, character illustrations, Episode summaries, etc.
In fact, I am still unsure about how wide-spread I want these to be.
Character Biographies add value to the experience of the story... but do include 'spoilers' for those who haven't read the story yet.
Character Illustrations can paint a picture of the character... but sometimes might take away from the story if the picture we created doesn't match the picture the reader creates in their mind.
Episode Summaries can help build anticipation for the reader about where the story is going next but it is 'spoiler' and takes away part of the excitement.
However, we are going to release them here as part of the Rewards as a way to give you more value and trust that you will take care of them.
