Gregg Potter, You Fool!

Gregg Potter

A collaboration framework from stories of a friend collector.

Gregg Potter, You Fool! highlights everyday events (unintentional collaborations) to examine how we intentionally collaborate with other independent organizations and actors. Assembling a team, delegating roles, creating agreements, hosting meetings, and ending the collaboration are all significant parts of a successful group effort. A component Potter repeats in the book is the need for a facilitator. With the framework in this book, individuals and organizations can examine opportunities to create more impactful collaborations in their lives.

Synopsis

Gregg Potter, You Fool! is a look at how we can collaborate more effectively to create more impactful outcomes. Currently, when someone is looking to build their collaboration skills, they page through sites and books where a talking head is spouting off skills a person should develop or reasons why collaboration is important. Collaboration contains multiple sets of behaviors, egos, and patterns that must be maneuvered while accomplishing a common goal. It is very important to practice collaboration skills on a personal level however, creating spaces to actually practice real life situations are difficult to come by. Resources describing collaborative circumstances to use skills or identify the importance of working together seem to miss the mark because examples are often perfect outcomes. That is not how actual collaboration in the real world works. There are disputes, missed expectations, and fouls created. These difficulties often leave the community being served responsible to clean it up.

With Gregg Potter, You Fool!, we look at collaboration from the germination point to evaluation. The process starts within us and how we show up in the world. Each step is outlined with tools to successfully accomplish them while also supporting each reader's personal journey. The examples used are real life, relatable and entertaining stories that help readers fully understand what is being taught. Lessons also weave in informal collaborations that is universal (i.e. the grocery store checkout line). Most collaboration guides look at this work as one entire chunk. There are many small pieces in a collaboration where details can easily get overlooked. Just deciding to collaborate or not can make or break an idea. Assembling a team, delegating roles, creating agreements, hosting meetings, and ending the collaboration are all significant parts of a successful group effort. A component Potter repeats in the book is the need for a facilitator. A good unbiased facilitator will help the pieces move fluidly. This book is an entertaining resource guide to assist anyone managing a collaboration to successfully get from beginning to end while leaving the project ready for a new team to begin if necessary.

Gregg Potter has been fortunate to have lived many lives, worked with a diverse group of humans, and is not bashful to share stories. His collaborative journey started early as a teenage manager in a hotel and has participated in projects in many corners of the world. He worked with different Starbucks stores in Los Angeles to create impactful community projects. In Little Rock, AR, while in graduate school, Potter put people and resources to work and successfully executed a supplies drive for those affected by Hurricane Sandy. In Johannesburg, South Africa, after going back and forth with the police, he mobilized homeless men to get repairs done to public baths. Gregg’s experience is one reason why this is a great book to learn from. A larger reason is that he is a connector, facilitator, and storyteller. The book combines all Gregg's passions into one package that will open the reader up to more successful collaborations.

Sales arguments

  • Gregg has invited renowned professionals in his network to introduce each step of the framework and has been presenting this framework in workshops throughout the United States and in South Africa for over 3 years.
  • Gregg's social media network (personal, business, clients) reaches over 60,000 people. His direct reach through friends, professional networks including Clinton Foundation, Peacework International, speaking, and his podcast is very large. He is dubbed a friend collector for a reason.

  • The Art of Collaboration:An In-Depth Look at Creative Practices for Creative People. This book is very niche. It works well for creatives wanting to get more creative in their collaborative work. • Collaboration : How Leaders Avoid the Traps, Build Common Ground, and Reap Big Results. This book is a great resource. It is formally written and academic. Brandylane Publishers, Inc.

Looking for titles that teach, promote, and encourage understanding, tolerance, peace, environmental preservation, health, and wellness.

Brandylane is a small, independent press, founded in 1985, that publishes fiction, non-fiction, poetry, memoir, and children’s books. We publish under a traditional arrangement and also offer a cooperative track for emerging authors. We believe that books make a difference, that lives and the world are changed by the power of words and images, and that large publishing houses neglect a wealth of good writing. We are not looking for mainstream read-it-before self-help.

Under our cooperative arrangement, we invest a portion of the publishing costs and offer a stepped royalty structure from 30% to 60%--higher than the industry average. One distinguishing feature of our program is that our marketing effort includes a one-year launch, followed by two additional years of promotion through our social media, website, our seasonal genre, and subject matter email campaigns, and continuous support from our PR team.

1106 Design, LLC

Dear Author,

You worked hard to write your manuscript; finally, it's ready to release. You know that expert assistance is needed, but perhaps you didn’t realize that working with a publisher is no longer necessary—especially publishers who charge fees to produce your book upfront and "share" more of your revenue whenever a book is sold.

1106 Design is an author services company. We offer all the editorial and design services you’d expect from a publisher, transforming your manuscript into a market-ready book. But here's the difference: we help you secure print-on-demand printing and worldwide distribution in your name. This means you earn several dollars more for every book sold instead of a meager “royalty.”

We understand that your book is not just a passion project but also a potential source of income. That's why we offer a range of services tailored to your needs at affordable prices. Depending on your manuscript's word count and complexity, our packages range from $4,000 to $10,000. And here's the best part: after this one-time investment, every penny of net revenue from book sales goes directly to you, never to us.

If this sounds like a better way to publish your book, I invite you to browse our services, design samples, no-surprises pricing, outstanding customer reviews, and educational articles at https://1106design.com. You can download a free PDF of my book, "Publish Like the Pros: A Brief Guide to Quality Self-Publishing and an Insider's Look at a Misunderstood Industry," and request a free, no-obligation consultation.

1106 Design has been in business since 2001 and is rated A+ by the Better Business Bureau. We are a “Highly Recommended Expert” at IngramSpark.com and rated "Excellent" at Alli, The Alliance for Independent Authors, at SelfPublishingAdvice.org, where you can find a "watchdog list" of the best and worst publishing services companies.

How can we serve you today?

Sincerely,
Michele DeFilippo, owner
