Update #4 - Manuscript is now with my editor! Aug. 25, 2021

Hello!

Wow, have I learned a TON in the last few months! 

After interviewing with 6 different publishers who wanted to publish my book, I made the bold decision to self-publish. 

Here's why: it all comes down to marketing.

Most people (including myself, before this campaign) assume that publishers will do all the marketing. That couldn't be further from the truth (unless you're a celebrity author). It's up to the author to do the lion's share of the marketing, but then the author has to split their hard-earned royalties with the publisher.

For this reason, I decided that if I have to roll up my sleeves and do all the marketing, why not keep all the royalties for myself?

So now I'm on track to self-publish in October! I have an awesome team lined up to edit the manuscript, design the cover, and help me with many of the logistics of publishing.

Just last night I finished my third revision of the manuscript based on input from a couple rounds of amazing beta readers. Then I attached the file in an email to my editor, and hit SEND! 

I am thrilled to have my editor's professional eyes on my manuscript and can't wait for her input. I fully expect to see lots of red ink :-)
