Happy 2019!! I intend that you receive this in full well-being and that your year ahead is blessed with OVERFLOWING ABUNDANCE!
It's a been awhile since I've posted an update. The book is still in the works and I'm focused this month on wrapping it up before handing it over to an editor (I've narrowed it down to a few people as I'm very selective on who I choose as the main one for this project).
Thank you for your patience. I truly mean that.
I admit there are times I feel pressured to get this book done sooner than later because you're waiting for it and I think I'm disappointing you by having you wait. But if I am to be true to myself, this is not a project to rush on anyone's terms. I could've easily thrown anything together just for the sake of "getting it out there" and saying I authored another book and to satisfy others, but full integrity for me with this means really pausing to reflect on my story and all of its rich experiences within it. There are so many moving parts to my story and I want to capture them all. I'm committing my 100% to this book and the message in it that I intend to share with the world.
A couple of (first-world) bumps on the road recently...
I did a TEDx talk in Toronto last month and I'm very glad it's over! The lead up to it took almost every single morning and night for at least two months to rehearse for the stage; Essentially, it took away from book writing priorities. I appreciate receiving the TEDx opportunity to share part of my story and message to a larger audience aaaaaannnnd I can't say that I would do another talk of its kind...at least not until after my book is released!
Also, my beloved MacBook Air laptop of 7 years also permanently died on me (I still love you, Apple) and it's been challenging to sit at home in a cold basement typing during winter time on a desktop computer that cannot be moved. It's a circumstance that I'm not allowing to stop me, but to be real, it is a challenge and is frustrating.
Nonetheless, I'm committed to getting this book done and the intention is to release this by late spring/early summer! Every word of encouragement you can swing my way is appreciated :)
P.S. Once I have my TEDx talk back from the organization, I will share it with you.
P.P.S. I'm launching a storytelling community in Vaughan, Ontario (a suburb just north of Toronto) on the evening of Wednesday February 6th called 'Flip The Script'. It's for those who don't feel they have a voice (you can call us outcasts, underdogs and introverts) but whose voices do matter. It's for those who have something powerful to say that will inspire and help others transform their lives. We know there's a lot of healing in storytelling. If you'd like more info on attending for free or would like to be a speaker, simply respond to this email.
Again, I deeply appreciate your patience during this writing process. It feels like a nine month process of birthing a baby- a lot of new experiences are coming of it and in the end it will be all worth it. I promise.
xoxoxo
