Love, By Any Name is a memoir that follows the 30-year love story between a cis bi minister, her trans husband and their nonbinary adult child. But it is also about the larger family and community that grew with them, finding new meaning in spite of the dual tensions of political and religious dogmas.
July has been a time for family. A week in my beloved Ashland at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. A week on our beautiful Siletz River for just Tom and myself. Pride Festival with our nephew and his husband, and in between, visits with family near and far. And at the same time, watching over 2 million acres of our precious Oregon forests burn, while it feels like our democracy is crashing and burning around us all. What sustains us through the trials and tribulations is Love. I hope love is sustaining you, as well.
The editor continues to finish up the last sections of Love, By Any Name. We've signed off on the back cover copy, and anticipate the book going to layout mid-September. And if all goes well, you, my dear readers, will have your pre-ordered books in hand in November!
I pray you are staying safe from smoke and are enjoying the delights of our summer season.
Love,
Rivka
