I've never been a professional writer. Most of my writing the last ten years has been in the form of scratch notes and captains logs. I grew up on the Californian coast between Half Moon Bay and San Francisco, went to college in the Arizona desert, and when I returned I experimented with various career paths. After much rejection and disappointment I was offered the opportunity for some adventure- a job on a crabbing vessel where I would spend the majority of the next ten years of my life. I'm not sure if I will be writing much more, but my experiences on the ocean placed me in a unique position to accept an invitation to write a simple tale of an adventure at sea that I hope the audience will enjoy.
