Stefanie Kalan is a mom and co-parent with her awesome husband of 5 beautiful, unique and talented children. When she is not supporting her own family and their varying needs, she works as an Early Interventionist supporting and advocating for children with special needs and their families in her local schools and community.
Stefanie began her career over 20 years ago working as an Early Childhood Educator in a local child care centre. Her focus quickly changed when she began supporting a child diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and behavioral challenges that struggled to find the balance of her own space and place in her environment and with others.
It was the opportunity of working closely with this family and professionals involved to develop learning strategies and solutions that made Stefanie decide to go back to school and obtain her credentials as an Early Interventionist while at the same time trying to understand her own daughter's struggles with mental wellness as they became increasingly more evident.
These catalysts together and recognizing the need for overall change and have led her family on an unexpected and passionate journey through the mental health system in search of hope and healing.
