Julio Pereira

Julio Pereira is a Portuguese independent filmmaker based in Lisbon. His work includes several short films and documentaries.

He has directed a documentary on Slavoj Zizek entitled “Against the Human Rights”, and a documentary with Roger K. Burton and David Ellis entitled “Dressing the Assassin”. Both were screened at the Institute of Contemporary Arts Cinema in London.

He has worked on several videos including a Nick Cave studio session and music video and also, “Meme Si”, a music video with Lucie Silvas and Gregory Lemarchal.

He has worked in collaboration with many filmmakers and artists including Chloe Mercier, Mara Castilho and David Ellis. He has filmed for companies such as Pearl and Dean, ICA, Royal Opera House, YKK, and several more.

He has recently been a background artist for the BBC adaptation “Little Dorit” and for Rob Marshal’s film “Nine”.

After 12 years in London and working at the Institute of Contemporary Arts as a Theatre/Video technician where he took responsibility for lighting, sound and video for major worldwide celebrated individuals and companies including BBC, Channel 4, film festivals, major bands and several more.

He moved to Lisbon 5 years ago and worked as a Writer / Producer for Fox International Channels in Lisbon, Portugal.

He now works as a filmmaker, writter and Director for www.mundo4k.com
