Cheryl Robson

Born in Sydney, Australia, Cheryl has lived in Sydney, Singapore, London and the south of France.

She is an award-winning writer, filmmaker and editor, who has worked at the BBC, run a theatre company and has established a unique indie publishing house in London with prestigious authors from around the world. The company was a finalist in the 2019 and 2020 Independent Publisher Guild Awards for Diversity in Publishing and Cheryl was a finalist in the itv National Diversity Awards 2019 for Lifetime Achievement.

She initiated the Virginia Prize for Fiction to promote women novelists and is engaged in a project to bring a life sized statue of Virginia Woolf to Richmond upon Thames, where Woolf lived and worked for 10 years.

Cheryl has two grown up daughters and is working on a documentary about contemporary music. Her previous documentary film won 4 awards at film festivals in the USA and aired on BBC 4 in 2020 being named a Sunday Times Critics Choice programme.
