Marion Neubronner
Marion graduated with Honours in Literature from the National University of Singapore and a Distinction from the National Institute of Education, Singapore. She obtained her Specialist Diploma in Counseling and Guidance from Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore, and her Masters in Education in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard Graduate School of Education, USA.
Driven by the desire to marry psychology with education to maximise learning, Marion has gained experience from work in various educational settings. She teaches undergraduate psychology in Open University-Singapore Institute of Management, she has taught in Ngee Ann, Republic and Temasek Polytechnic, developed curriculum for English and Literature in Ednovision and Literacy Plus. She was involved in qualitative research on afterschool practices in Brandywyne Village in North Boston and at Operation Hope Foundation, Cambodia. She worked on a grant with the Centre for Research and Pedagogy at NIE to do research on Sec 1 Normal Technical Students and their school experiences. Previously, she has a research project with National Youth Council on youth and crisis.
She has volunteered with Children-At-Risk-Empowerment (www.caresingapore.org) a non-profit, where she works with Normal Academic and Normal Technical students in school and afterschool providing support for them to achieve their personal best. The curriculum is tailored to meet their needs. She supports 2 of their websites(www.uth.org.sg and www.youthcare.org ) which provides psycho-education to students and their care-givers. She has trained with experts in Social Emotional Learning in Harvard and University of British Columbia, Canada. Areas of expertise include Restorative Justice, Assertiveness Training and Anti-Bullying.Her writing experience includes episodes of @ Moulmein High and Like My Own.
She is a freelance trainer, writer, curriculum developer, master teacher and counselor. Her joy is in supporting people in meeting their personal challenges, and reaching their own potential.
