Helen is also the founder of Diabetes Counselling Online which she started in 2001, when there was no social media and people had no idea how email counselling could even work. She is a highly respected part of the International diabetes field. This blog offers support to people across the world. Living with type 1 diabetes herself for over 36 years, she is passionate about the wellbeing of families affected by diabetes. She has over 30,000 people following her journey through the diabetes blog and facebook groups.
She is half way through her PhD which she intends to finish one day and completing her studies in colour and design, at International School of Colour & Design. She is excited to have recently published a picture book for children, co written an e book, and released two diabetes Apps .
As a charity founder, Helen has been invited speaker at national and international conferences and is an experienced blogger, author, public speaker and workshop presenter. Helen is a national Ambassador for The Garage Sale Trail and the Shop Small movement. She has featured in The Advertiser SA Weekend Magazine, Adelaide Matters, The Sunday Mail Home Magazine, Diabetic Living, Fete Press, The Advertiser, Australian House and Garden, Wellspring and Junkies Mag.
