I am a factotum who spent four years "working" as an English teacher in Japan, which is what I based this novel on. I have also worked as a debt-collector, a chef, a pro wrestler, a marine mammal trainer (when it was cool, I've since changed my mind about this), a luxury watch salesman, a moustache merchant for an international charity and at the University of Cambridge, just to name a few. I was born and raised in and around Toronto and have lived and worked in Tokyo and London for the past ten years. I currently resides in a flat in Cambridge, England with a partially obstructed view of the River Cam where I write whilst drinking beer and sake and edit whilst drinking very strong black coffee.
