Yve Lavine is a professional portrait photographer and former community educator. Her passion is exploring the lives of women and girls and the societies that shape experiences.
Yve Lavine is a commercial portrait photographer with a social education background. Her early career developed from youth worker to drugs and sexual health outreach educator in her home town London, and later as an educator at Family Planning in Sydney, Australia.
Yve studied Fine Arts at Sydney College of the Arts and has taught photography for over 12 years at Sydney Community College.
Yve has always had a passion and interest in exploring the lived experience, social justice and the societal structures that perpetuate inequality.
The paths of both community work and photography have always been closely intertwined for Yve. Having conducted a number of projects with youth and adults using photography and film making in her youth work days.
'Sweet 16' was Yve's first solo exhibition in 2014

Unfortunately we didn't make the 100 pre-sale target but the good news is the idea is being pitched to a small range of publishers and I'm in conversation with these companies.
Other good news is a women's association in Sydney, has offered me the opportunity to create a joint project and seeking Arts funding to further our aim and the possibilities of the material...More to come as we progress.
In the interim I've drafted a digital version of the initial participants that I'll be sending out to all those that have pre-ordered copies of the book.
