Synopsis

In a world where we are constantly striving to “become” something or someone, The Truth-Walker’s Journey: The UN-Becoming of Who We Are Not, makes us aware that there is no becoming. There is only connecting to our deepest truth and UN-Becoming who we are not. You are not defined by your circumstances or the expectations of those around you. You come into the world knowing your self-worth. As a baby, you never hesitate to ask for food, drink or a hug – you ask with the expectation of receiving; you give with the expectation of being received. Gradually you start internalising the beliefs of the village that raises you until you lose sight of who you are at your core. As adults most of us are living according to a norm that doesn’t fit who we are.

What if you could live every moment being comfortable in your own skin – confident in who you are, secure in your abilities, feeling empowered and trusting in your potential to make your dreams a reality?

How do you take steps to live in a way that you’re purposeful and happy according to your own definition? How do you get back to your greatest sense of self-worth and your deepest truth? Through practical exercises and a tangible inner journey, this book helps you to UN-tell your story. Then, using the UN-Becoming system and the Truth-Walker’s Manifesto, you are able to come back to who you are, show up for yourself, and be the ripple effect for the collective change in our world.

The book is a roadmap to UN-apologetically live your life according to your truth of who you are – it is a timeless system of tools and techniques applicable to every level of your personal growth.

The author’s experience growing up non-white and female in Apartheid South Africa has had a unique impact on her learning to show up in her deepest truth and be in her greatest sense of self-worth. From being told, at three years old that she did not belong in a “Whites Only” public restroom, to attending a multiracial school and seeing the potential of what could be in contrast to the South Africa outside school gates, Haseena Patel felt a deep awareness of the power of using one’s voice and living one’s deepest truth. During her teaching career, the author began to mentor girls, helping them to find themselves in environments of white noise, peer pressure and indoctrination. In 2010, together with her sister, the author wrote Leave No Girl Behind: How to help girls become the change in our world, and later founded a non-profit organisation, Leave No Girl Behind International, empowering girls through leadership programs. This was the impetus for the next step – to help women, who had not had this training, to do the same, using her proprietary UN-Becoming system. The author’s system has proven successful on a practical level for girls, women and men worldwide.

OUTLINE:

PART 1: THE TRUTH WITHIN – The author explores the meaning of truth; the difference between “truth” and “honesty”; the individual nature of truth and the science behind this individuality; the energy of truth and the role of thoughts, words and actions in this energy; real life applications; what “The Truth-Walker’s Journey” means; and why truth and connecting to one’s deepest truth is so important.

PART 2: AWARENESS - The author explores the story about your life you tell yourself, how to UN-tell your story, the five motivators that influence whether you live your truth, the nine base fears, and the awakening to living your truth.

PART 3: THE JOURNEY OF SEEKING – This is a bigger-picture exploration of the journey with the author showing the reader the different steps on the journey, perceived obstacles and how to overcome them, and the tools and strengths that the reader has available.

PART 4: THE UN-BECOMING – The author introduces the reader to the concept, meaning and sicence of UN-Becoming as well as the UN-Becoming system, shows the reader how to use the system and apply it on a daily basis in real life. The reader is able to learn the process to consciously connect to their deepest truth and live in their greatest sense of self-worth in order to live a life according to their own definition of “happy” and “successful”.

PART 5: BE-ING – The author explores the Truth-Walker’s Manifesto and its eight principles with the reader, meditating on each principle. This exploration is a way of BE-ing rooted in living your deepest truth and greatest sense of self-worth.

PART 6: GIVING – The author writes a heartfelt letter to the reader about the role of the UN-Becoming system in trusting self, interacting with the world, and contributing to the collective. The reader is able to consolidate what they have learned as a Truth-Walker and choose to apply it to create a thought-shift in themselves and in the world as a whole.

  • A study published in The Telegraph in January 2015 found that just three in 10 people are happy with their lives, 69% of people feel trapped in the same old routine, and over 40% are unhappy with their lives.
